Pressure² for Steam

Pressure² is a blend of beauty and function. Every part of Steam has been carefully considered and reworked to create the most fluid and wonderful experience possible. By blending Google's Material Design concepts with added flair, Steam can look absolutely gorgeous.

Downloading and Installing

1. Download the latest release.
2. Extract the ZIP and move the folder to:
   • Windows: the Program Files (x86)/Steam/skins folder, or your Steam install directory if different.
   • Mac: Depending on your version, Place into the directory ~/users/user_name/library/Application Support/Steam/Steam.AppBundle/Steam/Contents/MacOS/skins or ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/Steam.AppBundle/Steam/Contents/MacOS/skins
     • Replace user_name with the relavent username found on your computer
     • If you do not see the library folder, go to your username folder, and go to View > Show View Options and check the box Show Library Folder.
   • Linux: the ~/.local/share/Steam/skins/ folder
   • Ubuntu: the ~/.steam/skins folder
3. Open the folder fonts found inside the Pressure² folder, and for the files in here:
   • Windows: Right-Click the font files and choose "Install".
   • Mac: Double-Click each font file then click "Install".
   • Linux: Manually install the font by copying it to either /usr/share/fonts or ~./fonts and then run the terminal command fc-cache -fv.
4. Open your Steam Settings Window. Navigate to Interface on the left, and locate the option "Select the skin you wish Steam to use" and choose Pressure².
5. After choosing Pressure² as your Steam skin, hit OK in Settings, you will be prompted to restart Steam. Restart Steam.
6. You're good to go, captain. Welcome to your new Steam experience. Enjoy.

Choppy Closing Sequence and Scrolling

Description of the issue.

When I close the window, it has a choppy fade animation and when i scroll it is a little slow.

There is no maximize window button

There is no maximize window button next to the minimize and close window buttons. I opened the steam dev tool, and looked around in the layouts, and found something referring to a maximize button, also the minimize and close window ones.

Is maximize window only not default, and can I enable it myself?

Skin Animations Are Laggy

It seems laggy, when i tried to close Steam window it disappears very slowly.

Traffic Lights for Mac?

Description

All Steam windows with this skin use Windows-style minimise, maximise and close buttons. Would it be possible to use OS X traffic lights on OS X (like those from the original Pressure skin)?

It's slightly weird and confusing to have to go to the right corner of the window (especially with a decent number of windows on screen), and doesn't fit in.

OS X: Filters for installed/recent/all games in library looks a bit odd

I haven't tested it on windows yet, but the font looks a bit weird under OS X. I have checked and made sure that the fonts are all installed. The currently selected one at the top looks fine, but the ones below look odd to me. Can anyone on windows confirm that it looks a bit odd?

[Friends List] Weird red line near search bar, goes away when search box is clicked on

With this commit, this happens on the friends list.

It disappears when you click on the search box though.
I have now tested on windows and its happening there as well as on OS X

confusing collapse/expand icons in lists

I really like this UI, but I think that there is a mistake with collapse/expand icons.

The confusing comes that the icon shows a 'state' and not an 'action', here a small fix I made, using + and - icons instead of arrows that are in the wrong directions in my opinion.

What do you think about it? I can PR if you think it makes sense :

Friends and Settings tabs

Wallet Amount gets in way of Store Drop Down

Steps to reproduce the issue.

When the wallet amount is displayed beneath the store button and you mouse over the store button, the drop down list is displayed. However as you drag your mouse down to select the items, and the mouse moves over the wallet amount, the drop down list disappears. It does reappear when the mouse hovers over the few pixels below the wallet amount, but if you move your mouse to fast, it can be missed entirely. This makes selecting items in that drop down more difficult than needed.

Open Discussion for a Dark Theme edition

This is for an open discussion regarding a Dark Themed edition of Pressure².

I've had some time to think about it, I have read every single comment from every person that has provided their thoughts or opinions - no matter how antagonistic or douchey - and had a bit of self reflection. I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to commit to one way or the other just yet but first have an open discussion with you guys - the fans.

Like any good marriage, it's about compromise.

I have read a lot of comments on the matter, most of them don't really specify any reasoning but those that do have said their main concern is that the light theme is quite harsh on their eyes. My go-to response thus far has been "Well, the majority of applications and websites are white or light themed, why's this any different?" however, I have reasoned that perhaps the brightness could be an issue when in-game and using the overlay, there would potentially be a harsh transition from any dark games to a bright interface.

Perhaps we can meet halfway. What if I was to change Pressure² so that when in-game and using the overlay it utilized a dark theme? This would have the added benefit of also resolving issues with text looking a bit shitty in the overlay (Thanks Valve, for using crummy text rendering in the overlay!)

I'm going to experiment and come up with a way to make the in-overlay dark theme functional, and if this is well received it'll become part of the default Pressure².

Chat Background color

It's not an Issue but a request. I hope thats not the wrong section for this.
The chat background is way to bright for my taste and Im wondering how I could change that.
I haven't found any configurations for the specific background of the chat.

In-game overlay bug

Various formatting anomalies

• The "Set Taskbar Preferences" button under Interface clips with its surroundings. Looks like its position is defaulting to the top-left:

Nicknames are difficult to see in chat windows

Whenever I get a message from someone on my friend list it does not write the beginning of the message, only "XY says:" and then an open space below it, also, the font is stacking in the Steam overlay

Dropdown buttons turn black when active.

Steam uses >30% CPU when the friends list is open on the desktop.

When the friends list window is open on my desktop, the Steam client process uses above 30% CPU until I close the friends list window.

Use Pressure 2, launch a game, open music player and go to pick a song from library whilst still in overlay.

Can't use the login panel

the login panel doesn't load the way it should preventing me from logging in

upon installing the skin after following the instructions, the login screen appears like shown on the screenshot and it does not allow any info to go in
