Comments

Building Gadget in "Build to Me", must be at X or Z +.300 (not .299) or it will put you in swim mode. If pillaring in the same mode with "Place On Top" ticked it will knock you off your pillar.

Also, the O is capitalized in Place On Top and the T is lowercase in Build to Me. Not sure which is correct, just noticed they are different.

I like the place/exchange animations but they are a touch slow for my taste. Will there be a config for this in the future?

Describe the issue

After attempting to paste, game crashed and I can no longer load into the game when it attempts to "render"

Steps to reproduce

I was pasting a 16x16x3 layer of dirt which had 8 pylons with water in the space as well and 8 chests within 2 of the layers. I don't know how or why as it was my very first time pasting anything at all with this mod. 4 of the chests were (basic) sophisticated storage chests.

I have 3 crash logs.

Expected behaviour

I had hopes that it would paste the blocks I copied using the blocks in my inventory

No longer able to load into my server successfully without crashing. Idk how to fix it without loading a back up... which blows since I did several things before this happened.

Exchanging Gadget will not effect blocks around the clicked block

Describe the bug
Using the exchanging gadget to exchange blocks when used on the same type as the selected block type won't affect blocks around it even if range is big enough.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Place a 5x5 square of dirt
  2. Replace the middle 1x1 with sand
  3. Set the chosen block of the exchanging gadget to sand and the range to 5 (Fuzzy and connected area doesn't matter)
  4. Try to exchange the blocks by clicking on the middle (sand)
  5. Verify the dirt is not exchanged to sand

Expected behavior
The rest of the 5x5 should be exchanged to sand (this was the behavior of Building Gadgets 1)

Upon selecting a block with the exchanging gadget the entire game closed and I can no longer access my Allthemods 9 server. It appears to be having issues with the render pipeline pointing to a null value, I was attempting to select a connected polish blackstone block rom the rechiseled mod

Exchanging Gadget doesnt like End Block from ManyIdea

Game crash on interaction between Exchanging gadget and Occultism mod storage

Playing on All The Mods 9 Version 0.2.28

Using the Exchanging Gadget on Occultism's Storage Actuator will crash the game. From then on, loading into the world will continue to crash the game.
I've been playing on a server that offers a secondary world (Hosted separately) but with a shared inventory. Logging into this secondary server with the exchanging gadget still in the inventory continues to crash the game when loaded in.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
-Use an exchanging gadget on Occultism's Storage Actuator.
(Note: Unsure if this was a right-click or a shift + right-click)

Expected behavior:
-Either have no interaction with the storage actuator,
-Or pick the storage actuator up.

Rubidium Note:
ATM9 is using Embeddium rather than Rubidium, however the crash still persisted when Embeddium was removed.

Using Template Manager to copy contents of Copy/Paste Gadget to Clipboard Fails

Describe the bug
When using the template manager to copy the contents of the copy and paste gadgets to my clipboard, the operation returns a semi-empty json string. The json string contains properties but not values.

To Reproduce
In DW 1.20 I loaded a superflat world to do some building. After copying a structure, i went to the template manager and pressed copy. To copy the contents of the build to my clipboard. I pasted to VS Code and the results are as follow:

Expected behavior
I should be able to copy the contents of a copy from a copy and paste gadget to my clipboard so that i can save it for later.

Please note:
I am using Embeddium for 1.20 (the rewrite for Rubidum) I have not had any issues with the gadgets other than not being able to copy to clipboard, which is something embeddium shouldn't mess with.

Describe the bug
Some PC builds will crash to desktop if Shaders are enabled and the Copy/Paste or Cut/Paste gadget are put into Paste mode. When the Ghost image attempts to render the game crashes.

To Reproduce
Enable Shaders, Load a schematic into the Copy/Paste Gadget or capture a build int he Cut/Paste Gadget then put the Gadget into Paste Mode. As soon as the Ghost image attempts to render the game crashes to desktop.

Expected behavior
No crash or at least a ToolTip on the gadgets to disable Shaders before placing in Paste mode.

It was noticed that this doe not occur on all PC builds. A System with a 3080TI is able to render with shaders a Build Ghost image with no issues but a 3060 crashes every time the render is attempted.

This is while using Embeddium(embeddium-0.2.5+mc1.20.1.jar) and Rubidium_Extra(rubidium-extra-0.5.3+mc1.20.1-build.106.jar).

Applied Energistics 2 blocks not rotated after paste

Describe the bug
This happens to Applied Energistics 2 but it may be about other mod blocks too. Some blocks are not rotated properly after Cut Paste operation and setup no longer works.

To Reproduce

Client crashes when copy/paste gadget is selected

Not sure. It crashes every time open the gadget but it didn't initially. I think it started to happen
after selecting an area.

Crash when exchanging Spawner

In All The Mods 9 version 0.0.53, when using the exchanging gadget, enchanted with silk touch, on a spawner, the game crashes. Attached is the crash report generated.

I had dirt selected to replace the spawner with, Affect Block entities was the default value as I had just crafted the gadget. I had gone into my inventory while the exchange was happening.

[Feature Request] Chisel & Bits Compatibility

Feature

When copy-pasting a block chiseled by Chisel & Bits (or constructed by bits) the block appears empty (an invisible block). Understandably making a Copy-Paste gadget require every bit in a block to paste it would be insane, but in creative mode (or using construction paste) copying the Chisel & Bits chiseled block should work.

Pros of Implementing Compatibility

I can make Dire cool buildings in the template manager and share them for his Let's Plays. :-)

[1.19.2] Gadgets always shows red and cannot be used outside of creative

Describe the bug
When I made a gadget and was hoping to use it in my survival world I discovered that even after charging it to around half energy O couldn't replace any blocks with cobblestone. The gadgets work fine in creative which is where I had been using them to quickly make test platforms while building my modpack and testing things.
However now that I'm playing they seem completely non-functional.

To Reproduce
Just try to literally use the gadget in MC 1.19.2... with 320+ mods installed. :V

Expected behavior
Gadget should work, whether or not I'm in or out of creative mode.

Rubidium hasn't made me crash while using it in creative for massive areas, so I think I'm fine on that front.

Slabs placed with Building Gadget place at the wrong level when in horizontal row mode

Describe the bug
When using the Building Gadget in horizontal row mode, slabs place at the incorrect level compared to the currently placed slab. It always builds down a half-level from a slab that's level with block level and then you cannot build a row on top with the gadget. Switching to "Place On Top" mode will leave a gap between the currently placed slab and the build slab, exactly on half-level up

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Place a slab, make sure you can build a torch on it. That means it's at the correct level
  2. Use the Building Gadget in Horizontal Row mode, any range. New slabs should be a half-level down with no way to bring them up the half-level
  3. Attempt to place another row on top, you'll be unable to do so
  4. Switch to Place On Top mode, new preview should be a half level above

Expected behavior
Slabs should be built level with the starting slab

Cut and paste tool crashes game (client sided)

Describe the bug
Using the cut and paste tool will straight up crash my game client sided but not server sided. When using the tool, it will only cut half or less of whatever it is I am trying to cut while making me lose the rest of the buildings blocks I am cutting after the crash.

To Reproduce
Play on All The Mods 9 version 0.1.12 and whilst on the server, use the cut and paste tool to outline whatever it is to cut then cut it from the GUI interface (Not by key-bind).

Expected behavior
I expected to be able to use the tool without any issues and be able to move whatever I wanted but I guess not.

Server Crash when pasting an enderio fluid conduit

Attempted to Cut and paste a few tools while following along Dire's wither Farm build. Cut the following blocks:

  • Blue Shield Template (RFToolsBuilder)
  • Laser Node (LaserIO)
  • Laser Drill (Industrial Foregoing)
  • Fluid Laser Base (Industrial Foregoing)
  • Ender Tank (EnderTanks)
  • Basic Fluid Tank (Mekanism)
  • Fluid Conduit (EnderIO)

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a system with an enderio fluid conduit.
  2. Attempt to copy that system
  3. Paste that system (this is when the crash occurs)

Expected behavior

[1.20.1] Copy/Paste Gadgets Crash

I am currently playing my modpack "Mining with friends" and have included your mod. Firstly, thank you for this great mod :)

I tried a little bit today and unfortunately the game always crashes me as soon as I want to paste a copied structure on a piece of paper in the template. At first, I thought that structures from old versions no longer work, but the same problem also exists with structures copied in 1.20.1.

[suggestion] water placement feature

Watching the spotlight I had this idea. Having 2 buckets in your inventory would allow you to place water for free (since you could just make an infinite source anyway.) This would solve the need for an entire inventory of buckets that don't stack. Currently filling a large area with water would take forever and be frustrating.

Alternately, could do the same thing if standing in an infinite water source.

Copy/paste gadget still expends power for previously pasted blocks

Describe the bug
When pasting over an existing structure (such as when the copy/paste gadget runs out of power and stops mid-run), the gadget still expends power for the blocks that are already present, so it does not make any progress on subsequent pastes.

To Reproduce

  1. Have a megastructure loaded into the copy/paste gadget ( When I encountered this, I was using https://www.reddit.com/r/9x9/comments/174wp23/futuristic_megabase_schematicupdated_to_1192works/ )
  2. Paste the structure
  3. The Copy/paste gadget runs out of power after pasting some portion of the structure
  4. Paste the structure again from the same point -- so, overlapping the existing partially-built structure
  5. The Copy/paste gadget runs out of power again, while making no progress

Expected behavior
The copy/paste gadget should not expend power for overlapping blocks that it does not need to paste

[1.20.1] Crash with Building Gadget and Connected Glass

If you want to "copy" the glass panes (like clear glass panes) from Connected Glass with the "Building Gadget" to set them with the tool, the client crashes with a "Tessellating block model" error. Join and select the gadget again, the client crashes. After that, however, joining on the server is no longer possible.

All doors are not being placed when pasting in a schematic. Doors are listed in the Material List. Also of note and possibly related, trap doors paste into the world in a down, horizontal, state regardless of state when copied.

Client Crash with builder tool on rendering Belt from create.

Describe the bug
Client crash when trying to render Belt block from Create using the Build Tool. I shift clicked the belt on accident when trying to place a normal solid block while playing on a server. The server is fine, but the client crashes on join because the tool is the selected item and is trying to render the block.

  • Sneak-click Belt with shaft block from Create, using the build tool

Either not render the block or not allow selecting it at all.

It crashed with embedium, then I disabled all mods related to it and it still crashed.

Gives Grass Block on Undo Instead of Dirt if Converted

When filled with dirt and that dirt turns into grass from the surrounding grass block. When you undo it will give the grass blocks instead of dirt.

Expected behavior
It to not silk touch the items it's giving back if changed but returns the original item placed.

(Feature Return Request) - Block MOD listed in Materials list

In Building Gadgets, when you pulled the Materials list the lint showed the Mod and the block for each required resource.
In Building Gadgets 2 only the block is listed.

Domun Ornamentum gets bad-touched by Building Gadgets

Heyo! Just letting you know that Domum's handling of block data doesn't play nice with this build tool. But I'm pretty sure this is also just a general thing on their end as well. It's really not enjoyed existing on the server pack we've cobbled together.

What happened: made valid shingles. Placed one normally in the world, then used building tool copy and then pasted in a test sample to see if it'd work.

Shingles were placed in the correct orientation as hoped for, but were a JEI generic plain clay and oak wood 'null' block that instantly crashes the client when interacted with (And the entire server when desperate TNT measures were undertaken, shhh). Details tooltip showed the JEI icon cycle of all the various examples

Like I said, I know this is definitely on their end more than anything, but it always pays to ensure folks are aware!

Suggestion. Have a freezing option so if you run into lava or water it'll clear it and freeze it along the edges at an increased energy cost.

If you're using Rubidium and your game crashes when rendering something, please try without rubidium before submitting a bug report.

Cant exchange Dry Ice from Powah

Hello,

you cant exchange any Powah Blocks with Exchanging Gadgets (World Generation), like Dry Ice Blocks or Uranitite Ore, u have to change them manually with a Pickaxe. Hopefully this will be fixed.

Cut/Paste Tool Sugestion

After testing the tool it might need a max amount of blocks (configurable or at least a warning) that it can do that one time. It can move a huge amount of blocks and it also drops all those replaced items into the world causing a lot of FPS lag. Also, I can see people using it as a Mining tool to clear entire chunks with AIR and gather the items with it. I don't know if some sort of items package (like how the old-school OP picks would drop the items inside of an orb) would solve this issue but this tool is crazy powerful and I love it!

Dupe with Sophisticated Backpacks

Describe the bug
When using sophisticated backpacks and having the items in the backpack and in inv, if I build with the building gadget and then undo it will dupe the contents of the backpack into my inventory. (the backpack was obtained by killing a mob with the backpack if that matters aka not a crafted one)

Pasting Growthcraft grapes crashes the game and corrupts the world file

Describe the bug
After pasting Growthcraft grape crops in Creative Mode the game crashes and corrupts the save file. Happens with both copy/paste and cut/paste gadget.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Be in creative mode
  2. Plant and grow Growthcraft's grapes.
  3. Copy/Cut the grape crop blocks.
  4. Paste copied blocks

I'm assuming it is not possible to reproduce in survival, as the crop blocks cannot be present in the inventory (and therefore would not be placed)

Expected behavior
The grape crop blocks should not have been copied. After some digging in the code I see that there is a deny list being prepared, albeit statically.
Maybe there should be a tag that could be used in other mods to blacklist them?

Destruction gadget Atm9

Describe the bug
The destruction gadget is able to destroy players bases that are in claimed chunks on atm9

To Reproduce
Have the 2nd player claim land and have the first player use the gadget to destroy the claimed land. The 2nd player doesn't have to be a ally or on a team for the 1st player to destroy their base

Expected behavior
I expected that this tool wouldn't be allow to destroy players claimed chunks this is very detrimental for servers

[Feature Request] Non Resource Consuming Blueprints

So I am working on the Howiecraft Modpack with Howester84 and Cpt_Gloval and I was wondering if we could get a feature that would allow Blueprints to be given as a quest reward. As you know Howester84 and Cpt_Gloval are both exceptional builders and we were trying to come up with better rewards than just items or experience and some one posed the idea of rewarding a structure.

From what I understand it would not be hard to implement a check for a NBT Tag in the item much like how the mod checks for creative and to "Deplete" the tag after spawning said structure. It would also be a amazing tool for other pack devs to be able to reward a structure you could give away create machines, multi blocks, houses, or even statues/pixel art.
