Just FYI, instead of

tiles = mercantile.tiles(*bounds, zoom)

Currently you depend on lambda-proxy-cache, but the only method you use is get_hash

Since that's a very simple sha224 hash, you probably don't need the dependency, and then it might make it easier to update to lambda-proxy 5.2

When I don't pass a color_ops parameter, I get an error (link):

{"errorMessage": "JPEG driver doesn't support data type UInt16. Only eight bit byte bands supported. "}

When I switch to .png (link), I get what appears to be an invalid response. The png is 239KB, but opening it in my browser or an image viewer shows nothing.

Is color_ops required? I assumed not because it defaults to None.
