destinypositions's Issues

Violence section addition and UX suggestions.

Addition request:
Probably should clarify that you also believe in self defense outside of political violence, and where you stand with Castle Doctrine policy. You could probably also extrapolate this into stances on Gun Control.

UX suggestions:
Might also want to put "Protesting and Rioting" and "Defense of Property" as subsections of Violence, as you have with "Socialism" sections. Seems related.

You could probably also create a "Stock Market" tab for the GME stuff too.

Politics, Philosophy, Personal sections are missing descriptions. [documentation/question]

The Politics, Philosophy, & Personal docs are missing the description field that the other sections have; and I'm not clear on what they are supposed to be (excluding Personal).

  • Phil doesn't have the philosophical axioms section while Pol does. #111
  • Phil contains both politically relevant topics (rioting & alt right talking points #98)
  • and politically irrelevant ones (inc*** & child porn)

Is this understanding correct?

Politics - fact based support/refutation for policies with citations
Philosophy - axioms and the positions that follow from them... and controversies that aren't politically relevant

Suggestions:

  • There should probably be a small intro paragraph explaining each section. (Current, Pol #67, Phil #111, Personal)
  • Philosophy should have a section that lists the axioms/positions that are linked everywhere they are used/referenced.

Rename "Insane People" section

While I understand the frustration with this person, I personally feel like using "Insane People" is inappropriate. It makes you seem like the attacker instead of being attacked. Renaming the section to "Received Public Attacks" or something similar would put you in the defender spot. From a UX this would cause more sympathy.

Positions on free speech

Hey,
I wouldn't necessarily call myself a fan, but I love your stream and all your content. I noticed https://positions.destiny.gg doesn't include where you stand on saying the n-word, incest, or mowing down protestors? Would it be alright if I opened a pull request to add that info? I think I know how you feel about those topics.

About

I think that the 'About' page should be a little more fleshed out by including a brief introduction about who you are and what you do. The 'About' page as it currently stands just starts right off the bat with being defensive about your positions. What I'm picturing in my head are outsiders like the Atlanta DSA hearing about this "Destiny" guy while getting links to this page and still not really knowing much about who exactly "Destiny" is.

I believe a better structure would look something like this:

About

Who I am / who is destiny?

(small blurb about streaming career)
(would be nice to have a picture of you in this section as well)

Projects / Political advocacy

(List of achievements and/or projects such as Georgia canvassing, possibly even Omaha canvassing as well )

Why I made this website/blog
