dermasmid / get-chromedriver

Get the latest chromedriver for the chrome installed on your system

Installation

pip3 install get_chromedriver

Usage

From python:

import get_chromedriver
get_chromedriver.download_chromedriver()

From the shell:

python3 -m get_chromedriver

The download_chromedriver() function takes a optional arg for the google chrome version, if not provided, we run google-chrome --version.

Suggestion

Make this package works with selenium
You can create function which will check if chromedriver already exist
if it does -
the function will skip the download
if not
the function will download the driver
eventually the function will return the instance of selenium webdriver

What's cool about that is you will never carry again about webdriver because it will handle it for you
