First, thanks for making this guide.
Set it up, seems to work, at least in cmd; however, when i call idf.py menuconfig for example, the python cmd window only pops up for a split second, then closes again. How do I resolve this issue?

It would be great to have a taks the takes care of initialising a new project.

• acquire the desired name of the project
• create the subfolder with that name
• create the .vscode folder with required contents
• create the CMakeList.txt file and add the project(<desiredName>) entry therein
• prepare a boilerplate <desiredName>.cpp and open in editor
• run idf.py menuconfig

The default include path from the compiler would not be resolved, therefore all header files for example
#include <stdio.h>
are marked as not found.

Solution: Add the compiler path option to the configuration section. For example Windows:

 "configurations": [
        {
            "name": "ESP32-Win",
            "compilerPath": "D:/tools/esp-toolchain/msys32/opt/xtensa-esp32-elf/bin/xtensa-esp32-elf-gcc.exe",
...

I'm using Vscode on mac for my day to day work. Would there be minor config changes to this guide for getting a esp32 development environment working in vscode on mac or is it a complete other thing? Do you have an idea on what steps would be different?
