Ideally the color should come from the HR module because the list can be extented

could you check if there is such option in the HR module ?

I think the color is hardcoded (1 per status of the request) , so yes we should let as is.

By this way, can you add the libelle of the code related to dictionary into the shape colored as shared on my print screen ?
Even if the color will not show the type of holiday request, a small text (one for morning, one for afternoon) could easily help to view on the timesheet page.
