This will lead to MQTT errors and failures if we have multiple ESPs with this code connected to the same broker. Find a way to make this unique.

Also:

there can be multiple ESPs listening to the same topic, if you want to control them all at the same time, so host variable could not suffice here...

Maybe change code to use FastLED

Maybe use FastLED in the future. I remember it to be less flickering in certain LED configs and is also supports HSV values.
