cmus-notify's Issues

Add support for scrobbling?

I've been playing around with this package and loving it!

My use-case is that I scrobble everything to last.fm and currently using cmusfm to do that. However, AFAIK, we can specify only one program to :set status_display_program, so either I can scrobble track or use cmus-notify - but not both.

Is there any plan to support scrobbling for cmus-notify? Would love to see this getting implemented, if it's not too much work.

Covers saved, but not showing

Hello... I add this to notify.cfg

image

I think the config is working, because it save the art to $HOME/.local/share/cmus-notify/covers :

image

But it's not show up on notify-send

image

Any specific configuration to show the image art to notification?

Configuration option enabling waiting for uncached album art

According to the README:

the placeholder image is shown if art has not yet been cached (e.g. on first play of a file), this is because ffmpeg takes anywhere between 1-5+ seconds to perform the extraction, so whatever is available is shown instead of waiting an indeterminate amount of time

Would you consider adding a configuration option to allow waiting until ffmpeg has completed processing the cover art for uncached images? There could be a warning in the documentation about the delay when enabling this option.

Album art too small, cannot change size

Hello,
i installed all the dependencies but i still cannot change my artwork size, it look too small.

Screenshot from 2022-10-06 07-44-36

config
artist i:title duration covers:128:8 dunst

the default dunst size in config
geometry = "300x5-30+20"

i already try to change the size to something larger than 128 but i get the same result.

Replace existing notifications

I find that if I am rapidly operating cmus, my notifications will stack up like so;

image

I believe notify-send has a -r flag which allows you to replace an existing notification that has been assigned an ID (integer).

So basically when a cmus notification pops up, it will replace the one that already exists. This is how people make volume/brightness indicators, same principal.

I would write the PR myself but i'm not great with perl. But I can give it a shot if you want.

Cover not showing on certain occasions

Cover art is enabled, though it only shows when pausing or playing a previous song using the Z keybind, playing next song with B makes the notification use the fallback placeholder cover.
