This is why I retired Aiyla because she looked more like a solid, solid dominates and her kittens looked solid. The kitten I kept -Autumn -is a cross between Aiyla a mink who looked solid and Tao a traditional pointed ragdoll and shows more point coloration and her eyes are mostly blue...a bit green. the cross has produced a beautiful cat whose eyes could be said to be blue, and her fur due to the mink is very very soft and fluffy...she is fine to use...Aiyla was an awesome queen but Autumn, her daughter, will work better as she has more white but still is a mitted. I will cross her likely once to keep her fluff and then find a retirement home for her. My current breeding goal is to breed for less white-to get mitted and bicolor (not high mitted or high white bicolor)
The karens of breeding do not like to sell to mink breeders. I will transition out of the minks and keep just traditional...but I am going to breed one of aiylas and one of aasias (the minks) kittens to get the intenser color, more floof into my lines. sort of half way meeting the karens....

In the 1960s a longhaired cat named Josephine produced several litters. Ragdolls originated in Riverside, California with a woman named Ann Baker.

Currently the older registries do not accept minks as true Ragdolls. High level catteries do not have them. This is because at one point the old registry Karens bred the color chocolate right out of the breed. the minks were added to return chocolate (thus also lilac) to the breed.... but because this was in the last 20 years and not done by the British Karens themselves, they diss minks in general. But interestingly they also neglect to state the reason Birmans were re added/ back into the lines was because it was the Karens fucked up and it was their fault!!!!

I am not sure if this is no longer true as am having litters born with zero reservations....this is due to oops...on the other hand it works better to have two queens have litters at once. For example currently Athenas kittens are being mostly fed by Aasia.

also some impatient people just move on to another cattery because they think there is no hope of getting a kitten soon. You lose a lot of customers who want instant gratification because it looks less likely to get a kitten. We want to encourage the placing of deposits, but not scare possible sales away due to waiting too long...a fine balance.

likely I should set up a tic tock as those go viral fastest and each video I put on my facebook reels seems to promote the most attention....my facebook business page limits the music I can use to generic/no one famous music...people respond most to popular songs on the videos however. To overcome this I have been making videos (reels) using popular music on my personal Facebook page Sage Brush (@llM1f@c3b00k), tagging the reel as Azureskyragdolls.com (so azureskyragdolls.com shows on the entire video) and then sharing the reel to my facebook azuresky page....this is troublesome as anyone with half a brain can tell I am the owner of azureskyragdolls. Unless someone has placed a deposit I do not want them having my complete personal name, my phone number or my address. Unfortunately due to me making a google business listing this added my phone number and without my consent added my address. Anyone google maps ragdolls now can just put in azureskyragdolls and it shows them my exact location with a map. Currently my kijiji ads I put just Kamloops as address but this also shows pretty much my exact location.
Probably cannot be undone.
Having me listed in google however has its advantages as otherwise they do not include me in peoples searches for ragdolls.

All Ragdolls get their color points from their Siamese/Birman heritage. The most known Ragdoll coloring and marking combination is called the Bicolor. We give you explanations of Ragdoll color and markings later, Bicolors are characterized by white markings overlaying the dark points. Bicolors have white boots, mitts, belly, bib, and a white V over the nose.

Ragdoll Appearance; White Patterns and Colors

It is often confusing when reading about Ragdolls colors. To make it less confusing it is best to remember that Ragdolls come in different "colors" AND different patterns of White Markings. Any Ragdoll is described by its color AND its white pattern.

White Patterns
Ragdolls come in 3 basic patterns of white markings all of which are due to white patterns gene which is separate from the coat color gene; the White Spotting Factor. The White Spotting Factor is known as a "masking" gene because it dominates over any color genes. It "masks" any color underneath where it it lands. This can be shown by the fact that Ragdolls often, although their paws may be white, have some dark toe beans.

1. Colorpoint: this means their "points" (tail, paws, ears, nose) are a darker shade of the body color. All Ragdolls -like all Siamese- are considered to be "colorpoint" in this sense, and get this from their Siamese/Birman heritage. However, the term "colorpoint" in Ragdolls white patterns means Ragdoll cats without ANY white markings and their points darker than the rest of their body.

2. Bicolor: Bicolor is the white pattern most people associate with Ragdolls. "Bicolor" in Ragdolls however, actually means they have a white V over their nose which extends into their chin, bib, belly and front legs. Their back legs have white boots up to approximately the hock or a little above. In life however, bicolors can have varying degrees of white from "regular" bicolor to "high white". When two bicolors are crossed, the percentage of white tends to go up in some of the kittens because the White Spotting Gene's effects can be additive.

3. Mitted: Mitted Ragdolls have no white V. Their nose is dark like their ears and tail, and they have mittens and boots as well as a white chin and white belly strip. There is body color separating the top of their legs from their feet. Bicolor kittens with white v faces, with ANY color separating their front legs from their shoulders are still considered to be mitted; although high mitted.

I did a seminar for emergency support services on dealing with evacuees and doing up their files/sending them home with written info. Almost 30% yes! of people cannot read, or read very poorly......but hide it. Your father most people had no idea he could only read at a grade three level. he hid it well. It is very embarrassing to these people and they feel it is their own fault or somehow a personality defect...which it is NOT. Brianna is another good example...very few know she is dyslexic...she hides it and does not seek help going back to school although it is there.

I am not sure if you would call this a watermark? good breeders have their name on each picture they post...and the title crosses over some part of the cats body so it makes it harder to copy and use their pics
? do we need to put something about all our pictures cannot be copied without our permission? do you have to have a legally set up copyright? not sure

if you can get them talking to you, you can often move them farther ahead in their decision making. coming across as honest, ethical and helpful...and seeing them and letting you care about them as people can only be done with contacts...each email reply or response to an adoption application usually moves forward to a deposit because i take parts of what they write and respond not just to the cat buying stuff....

The Karen owner of Floppy cats .com sent me a nasty email that I had reproduced this picture of the cat in a harness with out her permission. I have since suck holed to her and posted the pictures of hers are hers but we should replace this picture with another one of a cat in a harness or stroller.

Mink Ragdolls tend to have more intense colors because of expression of the Birman gene. This gene allows more body color by less restriction of the melanin pigment.

Will be getting a future queen out of Sapphires litter just born (the lady who adopted her for retirement home is raising the kittens...its actually been quite good for the lady as she was recently widowed and in a huge depression; Sapphire has totally bonded with her and brought joy to her life :) She is a lovely lady

I mark the retired kings and queens as now leading a life of leisure as they so deserve, retired at age 3-4 so they are still young and can still have a full life with their Forever Home
to keep a homelike atmosphere for all cats I cannot keep all the cats and must retire them as add new breeders/lines/improve lines add desired genetics etc

we have one mink queen now (technically Autumn can be called a traditional now if you do not look at her lines).
I will improve appearance, retire the mink queens (Aasia will go after this litter as soon as I can find her a home). I will keep her kitten to add the intense coloring and extra fluff.
change: just leave the explanation of minks....could add if you want that minks are a greater expression of the Birman gene cb. Cb produces the more intense colors because it limits the action of the melanin restriction of color and this shows as more intense coloring.

a lot of the things are just picky grammar edits. ultimately we will both have to go over the entire edits because when you stare at stuff too long every one misses glaring errors.

Often too much data in my head and I assume others know what I know about the ragdoll biz
some of the edits are also due to some part of information is incorrect or some how not good to have because other breeders look at our website...so its a balance between catering to the very knowledgeable and the very unknowledgeable
most websites are very impersonal
people expect a certain amount of professionalism but also it helps too keep it human...and your wording has done this
so please remember I am forever grateful for all the hard work and endless hours you have put into this...and that I am extremely proud of what you have done
