jsonb's Issues

Hi, please make new releases

# databend maintains

Databend depends on git commits of this crate which is not good.

User Story: GreptimeDB uses jsonb for it's JSON support

Hello, everyone!

First off, a big thanks for the excellent JSONB crate. I'm excited to share how GreptimeDB (Tracking issue: GreptimeTeam/greptimedb#4230) uses it to add JSON-type support to our database. With JSONB, we've enhanced our capabilities in managing semi-structured data, which is crucial for many of our users who work with flexible schemas.

@CookiePieWw has been leading the integration efforts, and we've already seen great improvements in functionality.

Thanks again for your amazing work!

Is it possible to use this as web assembly? We could then use jsonb all the way in UI layer also.

Tracking: Support the full JSON Path language

JSON path has already implemented the basic elements accessors and comparison predicates filter expression, in order to support the full JSON Path language, the following tasks need to be done further.

  • Variables:
    • Variables
  • Modes:
    • lax
    • strict
  • Item methods:
    • type()
    • size()
    • double()
    • ceiling()
    • floor()
    • abs()
    • datetime()
    • keyvalue()
  • Arithmetic expressions
    • Unary + or -
    • Binary +, -, *, /, %
  • Filter expression
    • exists path predicate
    • like_regex predicate
    • starts with predicate
    • is unknown predicate

The syntax and functionality of JSON Path should be implemented in accordance with the SQL:2016 (ISO/IEC 9075:2016) standard. Here are some references:

Conflicts caused by "preserve_order" feature of serde_json

Hi! I'm trying to introduce jsonb into a project (see GreptimeTeam/greptimedb#4619), but the project relies on the non-preserve-order nature of serde_json, which conflicts with jsonb. I've noticed that the feature is used to preserve the order of json objects in conversions, while the order of objects is not guaranteed according to RFC. Are there other things relying on it?

I wonder if it's proper to put a trigger on the feature as what serde_json does for better compatibility. If so, I'd like to submit a patch for it :)

Can we use jsonb-rs in stable rust?

Hi there, enabling the use of jsonb-rs in stable Rust would certainly make it more accessible and easier to adopt for users. Have you considered providing a stable-compatible version? This could greatly benefit the wider Rust community.
