Forum Guidelines

Hello everyone! Since by now all of you should have a GitHub account, I will be using this issues page as a forum if you have any questions or bugs encountered throughout your EG2310 Journey.

Here are just some guidelines in posting using the issues:

  • Use a succinct yet descriptive title
    • Sample of a good title: "Not able to run RSLAM" or "Directory not found upon running RSLAM"
    • Sample of a bad title: "RSLAM" or "Bug encountered" (too vague) or "Directory error of -bash: /home/bob/colcon_ws/install/setup.sdh: No such file or directory encountered upon running source ~/.bashrc on terminal" (too long, please put it in th description)
  • Describe the problem clearly
    • What is the error message (provide screenshots if possible)
    • How do you reproduce the error (meaning: what commands did you run that causes the error)
  • Describe what methods have you tried in solving the issue
  • Describe your hypothesis of what could be the root cause
  • Tag appropriately
    • This goes along with non-bug related threads as well, use the correct tag so people can easily find your thread

If you are posting something else that is not an error or problem (e.g. possible improvements, possible ideas, asking for opinion, etc) you are free to style your issues in whatever style you think is appropriate.

Just as a guideline, always try to provide as much information but be clear and succinct. People won't read a 500-word essay on an issues page, but people also can't give meaningful feedback if what you write is very vague or lacking critical information.

With that happy coding :) and remember to have fun!
