Helltaker for switch

Helltaker is game designed and developed by Łukasz Piskorz (vanripperart). The game only released for pc in steam but i made a port for the Nintendo Switch, the game is free but if you want support the developer you can buy the artbook and Pancake Recipe or be a patreon.

If you want to contribute to support your language just fork this repo, add the translated jsons in to "Assets\Resources\yourlanguagetag\local\"

if the translation is borrowed, specify in the pull request the link of the creator of the translation.

and do a pull request to my repo and I will add it to the game as soon as possible.

Available on eshop?

I cannot find the game on any eshop. Is it available on any nintendo eshop?

Not an expert of the Nintendo eshop on developer but is it possible to published it on it to let switch user with nintendo firmware play this game? is there another way to run Helltaker on my switch without a custom firmware or hack?

[VITA] Wrong button prompts

On the Vita, the game still assumes you're using Nintendo's button prompts. This is obviously wrong, the Vita doesn't have an [A] button.

It's purely a visual glitch, the game works fine otherwise.

Are you going to update this to the latest Helltaker DLC?

Port not working

I tried to open the game and it shows this message :(, what can I do?

Fixes for parts of missing text blocks in the RU translation

Hi again. (:

Sorry if I disturb you — but some of the too long text strings didn't show up correctly in RU language... :(

I fixed all of them in JSON files, and made some changes especially for the Switch version.

Here's the fixed V2 version of the RU translation:

[Vita] Button prompts are wrong and not working on vita

The button prompts are still the versions for the switch port and when I press the circle button which is usually where the A button is on the switch, it doesn't do anything whatsoever... do I need files from the pc version to make inputs work?

Wont launch

I installed Helltaker switch on my nintendo switch and in the home menu the icon doesn't load and theres no name

when i try to launch it it tries to connect to the internet but cant

No where can I find if this is accessible on a stock switch or if it has to be hacked with CFW. Can you update your description?

Animation issue

Most characters don't have that trademark Helltaker bobbing animation the original game has. They seem to be moving from their heads rather than from their legs. Animation root problem maybe ? It also affects Lucifer's glass swinging animation and the head swiveling GLORIOUS SUCCESS skeletons.

Also, the Helltaker laugh animation seems to stop sooner than on PC.

Minor nitpicks but a fix would be most appreciated ^^

Language change(vita) and the language support form in the README

Sorry to interrupt you, I would like to ask if there is no language change option for the PSV version? I played the game and looked for it but didn't find it.

Also, I found that there are only traditional Chinese translations, not simplified Chinese translations. However, the language support of the README shows that Simplified Chinese is supported, while Traditional Chinese is not supported. Is this a mark error?

PSVita: Puzzle 5 is unsolvable

There is a timing error when traversing vertically a spike tile.
How to reproduce:

  1. Start Level V.
  2. Defeat first skull minion.
  3. Step into a active spike tile to deactivate it.
  4. Step up or down to leave inactive spike tile and activate it.
  5. Spike tile will activate early, hurting Helltaker.

That error does not happen when traversing horizontally a spike tile.

Kicks doesn't stop when button is holding

Hi, thank you for your great work!.. (:

Btw, I think I found out a tiny but so-o miserable bug:

Let's see: for example, at the first level (or anywhere), when you kick a rock against the wall and don't release the D-Pad button after the first kick, the hero continues kicking it indefinitely instead of spend just 1 move and stop.

..So, the player must press the buttons super-duper VERY carefully, and, sometimes, even 0.3 sec of pressing the kick button is enough to spend 2-5 moves, instead of just one how it should be.

So, ehm, do I explained it correctly? Please feel free to ask me if it's not.

Wii U port ?

There's a build of Unity 2017.1.2p3 out there for the Wii U (and if you want to get crazy, possibly even the New 3DS as well). Would be nice to get that working on there.
I do wonder how you managed to port it though, given that it is not open source ?

No text displayed, also controls seem to be wrecked a bit. i am not a big bully hacker so i do not understand a thing, but i really appreciate your job
