Zoom scaler type

Currently the upscaler looks a bit aliased and soft, would it be possible to implement 3 or 4 taps lanczos? This is still very fast for real time content. If you add linear light or ringing suppression that would be a great bonus, maybe as a HQ alternative option.

Thumbnail panel should be horizontal

Vertical scrolling in the thumbnail panel seems a little bit disorienting.

Incorrect HiDPI scaling under Windows 8.1 and Windows 10

If ImageGlass is run under Windows 8.1 or 10 with the scaling factor set to something other than the default 100% (I use 125%), the fonts are blurred. The workaround is to disable DPI scaling in application compatibility properties, but it would be nice if the application worked correctly out of the box.

Dull colors

JPEG images (saved out of PS) in ImageGlass appear to have duller colors than if the picture were displayed in Windows Photo Viewer. See the attached screenshots; the first image is a screencap from ImageGlass, while the second is from Windows Photo Viewer.

Adapting window to image (Ctrl+M) makes the window go off screen in Windows 10

And can't move the window. Restarting doesn't fix it.

"Image loading order" changes not taking effect immediately

Imageglass must be restarted for these changes to take effect.
Not a big issue, of course, but I thought I'd put it out there.

WebM file type support

Requesting WebM support.

I'm trying to make the switch over from Irfanview but sadly ImageGlass doesn't support the same variety of formats that Irfanview does.

"Image properties" menu item incorrectly handles Unicode characters

To reproduce this issue:

1. Rename an image file to a name containing non-ASCII characters (e.g. абвгд.png, with Cyrillic letters).
2. Open the image in ImageGlass.
3. Right click and select "Image properties".

Instead of the image properties, an error message box pops up, saying that the file "?????.png" cannot be opened. I assume that the file name string is incorrectly converted to/from Unicode.

Cannot launch igtasks.exe

When I try to create a language pack or do anything else that launches igtasks.exe, nothing happens. No errors or freezes, no new processes running.
Changing UAC or compatiblity settings doesn't change anything.

Imageglass looses its zoom and navigation placement that it was in before the save

Every time I save using 3DS Max, via hotkey and while saving using the on screen ui, Imageglass refreshes its image. Imageglass shows the text "loading" briefly before showing the image again. The annoying thing is that Imageglass looses its zoom and navigation placement that it was in before the save. Just thought I'd let you know.

Ability to change icons

Please add an option to change/remove some icons from the menu bar. E.g. I don't need Facebook, Newsletter, Bugreport. So I would like to right click the menu bar and add/remove icons I don't need all the time to get some more space.

[enhancement] Mouse buttons 4 and 5 should move navigate to previous/next images in the folder

I would love to see ImageGlass add this, the same way web browsers and windows file explorer use 4 and 5 for back/forward or previous/next when navigating.

It is a minor inconvenience to move my hand to the arrow keys on the keyboard or move the cursor to the next/previous buttons on the top menu.

Failed to associate with certain file types (e.g., .png) as default application

After installation, I launched ImageGlass as administrator and Settings > File Associations > Add default > Set associations.

Some image types (e.g., .gif) was successfully associated (when double clicked, ImageGlass would launch), but others were not (including .jpg and .png). When I double click the image file, or right click > Open with > ImageGlass 2, Windows Photo Viewer is launched instead.

I checked the Windows register, under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, ".png" seemed to point to another entry called "pngfile", and pngfile > shell > open > command was set to ["C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageGlass\ImageGlass.exe" "%1"] without the bracket, which seemed to be normal.

I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, ImageGlass 2.0.1.5.

Color management aware

If you pull this off you might get one image viewer of a kind, currently I don't know any lightweight image viewer that is color profiles aware. The embedded color profile must be converted to display profile, or at worst fallback to sRGB in the absence of it. You can see how an image should be viewed when opening it in programs like Photoshop or CM aware browsers like Firefox (ie. enabling this: pref("gfx.color_management.mode", 1)).

Normally images look darker on non CM aware programs.

Unnecessary Update Request

Issue from Randall

When I open up your 3.0.9.19 version of ImageGlass the program requests to update even though it is already 3.0.9.19. The download button is also grayed out. I've uninstalled ImageGlass but when install it again when there is another update that corrects this problem. The problem of course is not that bad if it is just a bug in the new version but it does concern me that it appears another party may be attempting to offer me altered software.

Welcome Image shows before each opened image.

The Welcome Image shows up for a split second before every opened image. It should only show up the very first time.

Menu location

In future releases, could you allow the user to choose "top of screen" or "bottom of screen" for the location of the button bar menu? Thanks.

Multi-Monitor Support

After moving ImageGlass to a monitor attached to a laptop, closing ImageGlass, disconnecting the external monitor, and reopening ImageGlass it fails to load in the primary monitor and fails to respond to Win+Left arrow to move it to visible space.

Feature request: Zoom to width AND height

This feature would zoom the image so that both its width and its height fit in the available space.

Feature request: Option to stop at last image

This would allow the user to disable the feature that allows them to loop back to the first image when reaching the end of the list. Similarly, when the first image is shown, going to the previous would not do anything.

As an addition, the Home and End buttons could be mapped to going to the first and last images in the list, respectively.

Remove social media plugins from the program

When viewing an image, there's an option to "upload to Facebook" in the context menu and in the taskbar. I doubt that anyone really wants social media features, we have ShareX for that purpose.
I suggest you to either remove the item completely or at least as an optional addon to the installer.

Feature request: Fit image (reduce or enlarge)

As title says it would be nice to Auto Fit Image on window size or fullscreen (reduce large images or enlarge small images).
Also a hotkey 'f' to switch from fullscreen to window would be nice, as alt+enter is annoying.

Winrar

I downloaded a few pictures and found that if I open the pictures from winrar so something like this

Cannot use orientation exif tag

Some image format like JPEG has exif tag and there is a orientation information which is used to reflect the positioning of the camera with respect to the ground. Current version of ImageGlass doesn't use this information to display the image.

GIF fullscreen to minimized glitch

Ok this problem recently occurred when I downloaded this GIF went to fullsceen then minimized with f11, it would flash from minimize to maximize.

Image Glass not opening png files as default

Image would not open png pictures as my default picture viewer instead it would open windows photo viewer.

I am also using windows 7 home premium

Files with no extension will be loaded

[As I don't yet understand git branching, here is an issue rather than a pull request.]

The LoadImageFilesFromDirectory method will include files with no extension. This is due to the Contains() call returning true when the file extension is empty.

My local fix was to replace this line:

Support PSD and XCF formats

As far as I know, there are some open source libraries that can parse PSD files very well (such as this PSD plugin for Paint.NET or the one GIMP uses).

Would it be possible to add support for this format (or maybe even GIMP's XCF)?

stop delete confirmation

Im unable to stop showing me me confirmations in ImageGlass when i want to delete an image. Is there any options to stop asking me on every delete operation?

"View actual size" doesn't reset scrolling

[I'm sorry, I haven't figured out git branches yet, so here is an issue report rather than a pull request.]

Symptoms:

1. Open an image (preferably one which is smaller than the screen)
2. Zoom-in a few times (preferably so the top of the zoomed image is off the screen)
3. Click on the View-Actual-Size toolbar button.

Note the image is now scrolled off the top of the screen.

My (local) fix was to call image refresh in mnuMainActualSize_Click().

Follow Windows sorting settings

All the "Image loading order" options work perfectly, but the only one I'm missing is something like "Follow ordering of containing folder".
For example if the images are located in a folder sorted by date, ImageGlass would order them the same way.

[enhancement] An option to disallow multiple instances of the program if it is already running

Let's say you open ImageGlass by double-clicking on an image. If you double-click on another image, it should open in the ImageGlass window that is already open.

As it is now, if you click on 5 images, it opens 5 windows. This option would have the current image being viewed in the window to the image that was double-clicked.

Basically, the same thing as dragging and dropping an image into the window.

Welcome image flickers into actual image displayed if welcome image is enabled

When ImageGlass is launched by double-clicking an image file (or choosing "Open With"), the welcome image is briefly seen, flickering into the image that is about to be displayed.

Set as default image viewer during installation

Would be nice to have an option during install to set ImageGlass as the default image viewer. When trying to set "jpg" extension as default inside the settings window I'll get "object link is not set to object instance" (its a German error message so I hope the translation makes sense :) )

Window adapt to image does not respect zoom

When I have an image that is 400x300px size, zoomed to 200%, then I would expect ‘Window adapt to image’ to make the window accommodate an 800x600px area, so that the zoomed image fits. Instead it fits to the original size of the image, 400x300px.

Live navigation

Just like FastStone MaxView, when you (left) click on the far right (1/3?) of the window it goes to the next image, if you click on the far left it goes back. This is a great lazy navigation mode. Another thing of the image viewer that I like (I'm actually using it) is to close viewer when double click on the image.
