I need some sort of visual file manager where I can easily navigate through files and maybe preview / view them.

I need some sort of cron job that updates the system. It should also update AUR packages, which may be problematic. Chrome for example will probably lose the user, bookmarks, etc..

Check if this is possible when chroot-ed or when booted directly into the new system

In case of BIOS boot, stop executing scripts. By dropping support for BIOS, I can automate the grub install steps, which in my opinion is more valuable. This will probably end up being used only by me after all and beside that, BIOS should already be considered old technology.

Maybe move time sync to postinstall.sh instead.

Currently I am copying my vim config file in /etc/vimrc to make the vim settings available to all users on the systems. However there's a default vim config file at that location that comes with arch. Of course it gets overwritten by mine, but I may break something. Fix this ?

I want all the apps / applets to have a consistent / similar look and feel. Maybe I can do that by installing a bunch of gnome packages ?

This will include the following changes

• install essential packages
• generate fstab
• automatically chroot to /mnt
• install grub
• configure grub
• enable microcode updates

If something goes wrong setting up the new user, a lot of the following steps will fail yielding a partial / incomplete installation.
