The Michigan State University iGEM team has identified a key issue of synthetic biology preservation and protection of genetic engineering: Biocontainment In an effort to create a multi-layered system of biocontainment strategies, the team has compiled well-known and novel methods of a full-range objectives to tackle horizontal gene transfer.
