We can't publish their 4.0 Maori translation until we get the Maori deed up. I think they need to be coordinators in order to actually add the translation?

"Indonesia" at the bottom of the pages should be "Indonesian" or "Bahasa Indonesia."
Hi,
All Creative Commons Legal Tools (including CC0, C 4.0 and PDM) have been translated to Dutch. I expected that the links of all these tools from a deed.nl page would refer to a legalcode.nl page. This is not the case.
Transifex already has this link incorporated into its translations:
What do I need to change to have that?
Cheers,
Maarten
The link "Terug naar de Commons Deed" ("Back to the Commons Deed") at the bottom of - at least - the Dutch BY-SA 4.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/nl/legalcode) produces an error because it contains one "nl" too much:
All legal tools with official translations have the legal code available at legalcode.xx URLs (such as http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.fi) except for English, presumably because the file is not named with the language code. Can we special-case it so that this works for all of the English-language legal tools? (Thanks to Maarten for pointing this out.)
None of the popups on the deeds are coming up (at least, not on Firefox or Chrome in Linux)
@mmoreshead -- you were left off the spreadsheet cause i copied the names from the staff page.
Let's fix that.
See www.creativecommons.org/staff for typical profile.
Occasionally I've visited license deeds or the chooser and noticed that the language display seems to be wrong.
Like so: http://dustycloud.org/tmp/choose_wrong_lang.png
Maybe a bug in the i18n language selection code?
When you are viewing a license deed (any license version), clicking on "Use the license" still takes you to a page with information pre-filled for the 3.0 licenses; this should be updated to lead to information about using 4.0.
The author name should be dct:creator, not dct:title.
This is the output of the tool currently:
<p xmlns:dct="http://purl.org/dc/terms/">
<a rel="license"
href="http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/">
<img src="http://i.creativecommons.org/p/zero/1.0/88x31.png" style="border-style: none;" alt="CC0" />
</a>
<br />
To the extent possible under law,
<a rel="dct:publisher"
href="http://work_url">
<span property="dct:title">author name</span></a>
has waived all copyright and related or neighboring rights to
<span property="dct:title">title_of_work</span>.
</p>
Also, to be more consistent with the normal chooser, the 'xmlns:dct="http://purl.org/dc/terms/"' attribute should just appear on every element that uses dct properties, so as to prevent the end user from breaking the metadata so easily if they decide they want a div instead of a paragraph element.

I use a link checker on creativecommons.nl to check whether links are broken or not. This link checker asks for the first 2048 bytes of any site I've linked. Something like
curl --range 0-2048 -v https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.nl
This provides me with a 'HTTP/1.1 416 Requested Range Not Satisfiable' error which, if I understand it correctly, could indicate a problem with the caching of creativecommons.org services.
http://search.creativecommons.org/ displays an older version of the navigation bar and tabs. It is different than the standard version seen at https://creativecommons.org/
Removed
All legal code pages of the 3.0 licenses do display properly in https, this leads to problems in some browsers (at least in Firefox and Chrome, not in Safari)
Steps to reproduce:
Chrome get an unsafe scripts warning, Firefox gives an unknown identity warning.
Screenshots attached.

I was just about to send a reminder about the next Open Ed Call in two weeks when I realized that the etherpad with 2 years full of notes is gone still. Any chance we can recover by next week so I send out the reminder for the meeting?
Would like to recover these two pads:

Going to https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/ on Chrome breaks the disclaimer button, due to scripts that are run over http.

Please create a new box on the site mainpage that contains 4 to 6 most recent blog headlines from the cc blog. Each headline should link directly back to the blog. Might be easiest to merge this with another box. Placement not critical, but ideally it would be above the fold / upper 50% of page.
create a link in the grey navbar on website directly to blog - name it "Blog." Should appear before "News"
Which means blog could then be removed from the "News" menu pulldown.
Page has responsive styles but is missing viewport meta tag so it’s not correctly responsive on iOS devices
There's an error message that pops up when people try to email themselves the HTML/embedded metadata for their public domain mark.
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/nl/legalcode.nl gives a 404
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/nl/legalcode gives a 200
the 404, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/nl/legalcode.nl, is linked on https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/nl/
Is this a Transifex issue or a bug in the code?
Change the link at the top which says "Looking for jurisdiction ports of earlier versions?" to say "Looking for ports of earlier versions?".
Maarten approved the files, so they are ready to go live. Once it's done, let me know and I'll publish a blog post.
please include the Kickstarter video, and the live link to the campaign (which I will get to you as soon as we launch)
It now refers to css from the cc4 template that is no longer on the server. it is therefore no longer markedup.
I can't find where that page is so I can't create a pull request to fix this.
As the designer of the new license chooser, this has been bugging me for a while:
The div elements of id "freedoms" and "license" should have the style attribute read "min-height: 348px" instead of "height: 294px", such that the arrow pointing from the freedoms box to the license box points to the middle of the circle icons. (this broke when the update to 4.0 removed the license jurisdiction field).
I'll gladly submit a patch if need be, though I can't seem to find the repository for cc.engine...?
They changed the link on the deed so that it goes directly to the Maori translation. I think it has to be manually pushed again. Thanks!
Including @peterspdx @mzeinstra on this.
Site search seems to hang on certain browser configurations / for some users. The page loads, but the asynchronous Google search call doesn't work, so one is left with the loading animation forever:
It's not clear whether it's some local configuration or browser version that causes the problem. For me, it works on Firefox, but on Chrome it only works in incognito mode. For Jane, it works in Chrome w/o incognito, but not on Firefox regardless of private browsing.
Latest browser versions used above (for reference):
Firefox: 26.0
Chrome: 31.0.1650.63
In the Chrome developer tools' network tab, the Google search API calls are marked as "failed", but there doesn't seem to be a reason for the failure.
I suspect a jQuery incompatibility somehow.
They were nice enough to send us 300 CC branded usb drives. Can we add them to: http://creativecommons.org/supporters#in-kind
Anchor text: USB Memory Direct
Link: https://www.usbmemorydirect.com/
Thank you!
Mari
The footer on all pages currently uses the BY-SA 3.0 license. The legal team has requested that we update it to BY-SA 4.0:
engine-rtl.css isn't included in Arabic CC search.
The deed strings are translated and reviewed in Transifex, but I think they may need to be manually pushed live because they are the only strings translated so far. We aren't going to publish the Maori 4.0 legal code translations until this is done, so if possible to do today or tomorrow, that would be awesome. Thanks!
search.php refers to https://creativecommons.org/wp-content/themes/cc5/images/loading.gif, this file does not exist. since it is the cc6 not cc5 theme.
