The readme does not say much.
Can you add a little more documentation? show a simple program using your code. Use a simple sub-process that prints something to stderr, something to stdout and prompts the user for an input to illustrate stdin.

How is this supposed to be used?

I tried adding the standard:

if __name__ == "__main__":
    import sys
    from PyQt5.QtWidgets import QApplication
    app = QApplication(sys.argv)
    main = Terminal(None)
    main.setGeometry(1, 1, 800, 600)
    main.show()
    sys.exit(app.exec_())

but it just displays a black window with no way to interact.
What am I missing?

I am able to put the custom widget and it asks for input very nicely but I can't seem to connect the Terminal class to the PlainEditText class
