Ansible franklinkim.hosts role

franklinkim.hosts is an Ansible role which:

• manages hosts entries

Installation

Using ansible-galaxy:

$ ansible-galaxy install franklinkim.hosts

Using requirements.yml:

- src: franklinkim.hosts

Using git:

$ git clone https://github.com/weareinteractive/ansible-hosts.git franklinkim.hosts

Dependencies

• Ansible >= 2.0

Variables

Here is a list of all the default variables for this role, which are also available in defaults/main.yml.

# hosts:
#   - { ip: '127.0.0.1', domain: 'foobar1.com' }
#   - { ip: '127.0.0.2', domain: 'foobar2.com', state: absent }

# list of /etc/hosts entries
hosts: []
# always remove all entries before adding the configured ones
# if set to 'no' you can remove entries manually by setting the
# item's state to 'absent'
hosts_reset: yes

Usage

This is an example playbook:

---

- hosts: all
  roles:
    - franklinkim.hosts
  vars:
    hosts:
      - { ip: '127.0.0.1', domain: 'foobar1.com' }
      - { ip: '127.0.0.2', domain: 'foobar2.com' }
      - { ip: '127.0.0.3', domain: 'foobar3.com', state: absent }
    hosts_reset: no

Testing

$ git clone https://github.com/weareinteractive/ansible-hosts.git
$ cd ansible-hosts
$ make test

Contributing

In lieu of a formal style guide, take care to maintain the existing coding style. Add unit tests and examples for any new or changed functionality.
