Unfortunately after the update, the comments do not show up anymore. It's still possible to comment, but only the "x responses" is shown, not the comments themselves. It does work fine with a newer template, but using that means there's no access to the joomla menu anymore.

Site health check tells me there's a php session open:

A PHP session was created by a session_start() function call. This interferes with REST API and loopback requests. The session should be closed by session_write_close() before making any HTTP requests.

• there's also issues with the REST API, which might be related to this.

Deactivating all installed plugins did not change this. WP is on the latest version supplied here (5.7.2.) and Joomla is up to date as well.
