The definite Conway's Game of Life implementation in your browser. Features an infinite field & Hashlife.

All modern browsers are supported. I don't test IE, but it might work starting at version 9 or 10.

The whole thing is written in Javascript, using the canvas tag.

life's Issues

Born 0

Born 0 does not work. If I set rule to /0 and run the game without any alive cell, then instead of all cells being born and dying every two generations, there develops a pattern like in the attached photo.

No option to save patterns to drive

Would you be able to add an option to save a pattern to your drive for later loading?

Add option to draw on the screen the plot

A feature to step behind one generation.

Like 'step', it would be great to have a 'undo-step' button to step behind one generation, if possible. Would help in 'seeing' how the rules work.

Btw thanks for this awesome app, its clean, snappy and fun to play with!

Randomize function

I would really appreciate it if there was a button that would randomize all the cells in the current window (possibly up to a limit so it doesn't crash). This would be great for testing new rules to see what they end up like.

Plot population vs generation

A suggestion via email:

I do have one suggestion/request: It would be nice to have an "Export data"
button that generates a .csv file with the population for each generation
for the current pattern.
Another (more ambitious) idea would be to be able to see a plot of
population vs. generation.
