coderdojo.com's Issues

Improve handling of rtl text like Arabic

#65 used CSS to set the text direction for Arabic, but best practice is to set the 'dir' attribute on the <html> tag. Nuxt i18n maybe adding this as a feature, so keep an eye on this issue to see if / when it gets added, or make your own plugin as discussed in the bug: nuxt-modules/i18n#762

Remove old infra for coderdojo.com

Following the launch of the new coderdojo.com site, we can remove the old infrastructure for coderdojo.com (not Zen ๐Ÿ˜… ), including

  • Netlify build
  • Wordpress docker instance on AWS ECS
  • Archive this repo
  • Archive docker-wordpress repo

Possibly other bits.

Newsletter link causing 404 problems

Amy sent out a newsletter with a link to 'https://coderdojo.com/ways-to-run/', but some people are having issues when following it.

Some people are using the link, but it is directing them to something like this: https://coderdojo.com/ways-to-run/?mc_cid=00fa411f0a&mc_eid=5ced5a2ba5

Which then causes problems with redirection from Zen to CoderDojo's Netlify/Vue site.

Hunch is that the query string maybe something user-specific, but this should be ignored when checking if the URL should be redirected, etc.

Link to help translate is misleading

the link to the translations on the pages https://coderdojo.com/ and zen.coderdojo.com is wrong.

It should be https://crowdin.com/profile/coderdojo
and not
https://help.coderdojo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002700443-Help-CoderDojo-with-translation
which points to
https://help.coderdojo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002702123-Using-CrowdIn-Our-translation-tool
which points to
https://crowdin.com/project/zen-community-platform
which is outdated.

This link for all platforms should be used on both platforms so people know that there exist multiple sources for what they may want to translate. Otherwise, I click on the same link on coderDojo.com, translate everything and ask myself why zen ist not translated.

Roadmap:

  • coderdojo.com #39
  • zen.coderdojo.com

ZenPlatformBot needs to use HTTP Auth for accessing CircleCI

CircleCI requires that we use the HTTP Auth header for accessing the API: - look in /update-trads.sh maybe? Or could be a webhook.

On ... your personal access token (CircleCI) using curl/7.28.2-DEV was used as part of a query parameter to access an endpoint through the GitHub API
...
Please use the Authorization HTTP header instead, as using the `access_token` query parameter is deprecated. If this token is being used by an app you don't have control over, be aware that it may stop working as a result of this deprecation.

Depending on your API usage, we'll be sending you this email reminder on a monthly basis for each token and User-Agent used in API calls made on your behalf.
Just one URL that was accessed with a token and User-Agent combination will be listed in the email reminder, not all.

Visit https://developer.github.com/changes/2020-02-10-deprecating-auth-through-query-param for more information about suggested workarounds and removal dates.
