CMSimple_XH – a flat file CMS

CMSimple_XH is a fast, small, easy-to-use and easy-to-install modular Content Management System (CMS), which doesn't need a database.

It is free Open Source Software under the GPL3 Licence.

CMSimple_XH stores the content of the different pages in one single html-file (content.htm).

As of CMSimple_XH 1.7 the pages are separated by special HTML comments in content.htm, so H1-H6 can be used to structure each page.

Configuration and language forms can get rather large. For instance, the English language configuration page of CMSimple_XH 1.6.9 has a height of 13394 px for me (YMMV). It would therefore be nice if the fieldsets would be transformed to tabs or accordions or something like that.

Prefix special page names with "xh"

CMSimple_XH currently reserves a lot of page names for special purposes, such as images, sitemap, mailform etc. Furthermore, all plugin names are basically reserved; for instance, naming a page pagemanager will be confusing in admin mode.

I think that tackling the plugin name issue should be treated as separate issue, but we should prefix all special page names used by the core with xh_ to avoid clashes with user page names. This will cause some BC breaks, for instance filebrowser plugins will have to cater to that change, and some bookmarked pages (e.g. sitemap and mailform) will break, but in my opinion the benefit outweighs the drawbacks.

Wrong language codes

As @frase-git noticed, we're still shipping language flags for Swedish and Greek with wrong names (according to ISO 639-1 these should be sv and el instead of se and gr, respectively).

I suggest to fix that for CMSimple_XH 1.7, but not earlier for backward compatibility.

Redirect `selected` GET requests to proper page URLs

As of CMSimple_XH 1.6 it is possible to use the query parameter selected to refer to a certain page. This creates DC and doesn't look nice (in the browser's address bar, for instance). The DC issue could be addressed by a canonical link, but I think it's better to address the overall issue with a redirect (301 Moved permanently) triggered by PHP.
