deploy.workers.cloudflare.com's Issues

"Pulsing" status button

image

Could we make the solid dot in this tag pulse slowly? similar to the live icon on cloudflare.tv.

Essentially over the course of like 2 second go from 10% opacity to 100%?

Update Github action interaction and text

Text for step updated to Navigate to your new repository’s Actions page and enable Github Actions

When user first lands on step, image/ link is visible and button is disabled
image

Once user clicks link (and is thus taken to a new tab) Button becomes enabled and link/image greys out (still technically clickable)

Refreshing on "deployment started" final page resets the flow

If you click a link and go back or refresh or anything on the final success page where you see the status and congrats messaging, the whole system resets. It should just reload in place. Preferably that would be the same for all the steps so that users don't get completely reset with an accidental refresh or navigations

[Idea] Confirmation on refresh or navigate away from flow

I don't see this on vercel or netlify (though didn't test every point in the flow), but what are y'alls opinion on a confirmation dialog appearing if the user tries to do something like close tab, navigate back, or refresh page as it may "lose data". Happens on a lot of forms as well as gmail and such.

Clarify next steps when a project has been deployed

once a project has been deployed, the next steps are super important to help devs understand how to get their project completely set up.

right now, we have access to the github repository. if we have access to the script name (#9), we can link to the script page in the workers dash, which would allow you to see where its deployed, analytics, and generally train you to come look at this page.

imo we should continue to link to the github repository - for more complex projects (#6), the dev will for sure need to go check out the README, clone the project, begin committing things/running wrangler commands locally. pointing them to the README as the next step to "Finish setting up your project" will almost always be relevant, even if there isn't actual more stuff for them to do :)

Issue when logging in

Some users have seem issues when hitting the /login redirect — haven't been able to repro but opening just to remind myself this exists :)
