Building

To compile this project, run sh autogen.sh followed by make. The program has no significant dependencies and uses glibc. To install the unit file, it needs systemd.pc from the systemd package.

clr-power-tweaks's Issues

Hangs on startup, preventing the system from entering 'running' state

If I run clr_power manually, it prints "Nice failed" and then hangs. It appears to be calling sleep() when interrupted in GDB.

Am I getting an error?

I ran clr_power but it then shows this:

/usr/share/clear/versionstamp does not exist! So how would I solve this if this is an error?

Laptop stuck at performance governor

My laptop fan blowing because of perfoamance governor.

Distribution: Clear Linux OS

ondemand performance schedutil

There is no more powersave governor.

according to: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/cpu-freq/governors.txt
schedutil is better suited than powersave, which stuck at minimum freq.

Heads up: 5.13 will move some sysctl tunables

Freezes

Sometimes the system totaly freezes, even cursor not response. In log i see messages about overheated but i cooler work on lowest speed, and laptop a little warm.

Unable to build it on Arch-based Linux distro

So after typing this on terminal yay -S clr-power-tweaks it fails to build.

Any idea how to solve this?

Integrate parts (or most) of Chromium OS's gen_autosuspend_rules.py script

Summary says it all. See the following:

Investigate how much we can (or ought) to reuse/leverage, and integrate it into clr-power-tweaks.

Regarding /proc/sys/net/core/somaxconn

Is setting a value of 512 (https://github.com/clearlinux/clr-power-tweaks/blob/master/src/data.h#L65) here still necessary?

Upstream changed it to 4096 in 5.4 , refer https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/commit/?id=19f92a030ca6d772ab44b22ee6a01378a8cb32d4.

So why not just use the kernel default? Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you!
