citra-games-wiki's Issues

Liberation Maiden

Citra compatibility list shows this game as "Great", but it is actually incompletable. There is a graphical glitch on some enemies that prevents them from completing their destruction animations when defeated. Most of the time this doesn't affect the gameplay, but in stage 2 there is an objective to defeat 5 specific enemies all of which suffer from this glitch which prevents the game from recognizing them as defeated and prevents the game from continuing.

Style Savvy: Styling Star

On customer's contact cards, their picture will not show or update and displays black and green static. Also the Designer Lounge app is stuck in infinite loading.

About Mario Golf: World Tour

When I was running Mario Golf: World Tour, I only dropped the frame seriously at the beginning(About 9FPS in my Computer, maybe the computer configuration is different frame number is also different... But later I never tried it. I wanted to install DLC to play, but I got stuck in the Logo.
Is there something wrong with the software or the process of my installation?

Move all games into "games" folder

As the list of games becomes larger, it will become more difficult to navigate the list via the github ui (we will have over near 1000 entries by the time the DB is complete). We should move all game folders into a single folder so that non-compatibility files (contributions.md, etc) are more accessible.

Game Compatibility List Won't Update

Basically: Game compatibility list won't update days after submission. The particular game I tested is Pokémon Sun with Citra Nightly 1064.

I tried to look everywhere, since I might miss something. But, surprisingly, I don't see a community as big as another emulators -- despite being a perfect ever-growing emu and is a recent/still popular platform.

Yo-Kai Watch 2 Multiplayer

In Yo-Kai Watch 2 Bony Spirits/Fleshy Souls I can't trade or fight with another player, when one player host a trade/fight, the other one can see him(while he his in the same group on citra) but when he ask to join the trade, the player who host don't receive the ask and so they can't play together, can this problem be fixed or am I the only one who can't and if it is so can you explain why I can't.

Paper Jam bug

When I go into the game, literally EVERYTHING that isnt paper is invisible, even the toads talking is invisible. I tried a couple different roms but all of them had the same problem :/ It could be something wrong with my settings, so feel free to help!

Collation of issues in the PR builder

The PR builder should mention that Title IDs should be in uppercase for consistency.

chrome_2017-12-28_22-20-06

@Schplee mentioned some discrepancies between the PR builder and the contributions guide.

image

Also to the description, there should be no release dates as it's redundant.

chrome_2017-12-28_23-06-36

Also I think the contributions guide should be linked in the PR builder.

The contributions guidelines state boxarts should be from the USA. There should be mention of this. Could also mention that Europe should be used if there is no USA release.

chrome_2017-12-28_22-39-48

#185 mentioned that there is no differentiation between eshop and virtual console boxarts which use different resolutions. I think there should a sentence at the end for virtual console boxarts.

#158 mentioned the inconsistency with GPU models between the PR builder and the contributions guide.

Ocarina of Time 3D Graphics bug

I'm having a graphics bug where the textures don't display properly. Textures at times can be a mash up of random textures. It is fixed by changing the texture filter and changing it back but after a while of playing it comes back. It doesn't happen to all textures and it happens with all texture filters. I am using accurate multiplication.

This is the us version of a legit copy i dumped about a week ago, it worked fine on a legit 3ds but on Citra it shows this, game runs fine other than that, any fix?

Game compatibility list's inconsistencies

The game compatibility list on Citra's website has a few minor inconsistencies.

1. You can't filter games by "Not Tested" by clicking on the 'bar' above the list
Filtering games by compatibility works fine, unless you want to focus on testing the games with no rating. When clicking on the parts of the 'bar' above the list, you can easily filter the games by compatibility - except for "Not Tested" rating, when it shows no titles at all. Other parts of the game rating filters work flawlessly.
issue1_0
There is a workaround to this just by typing "Not Tested" into the search box manually, but I still think you should know about this.
issue1_1

2. Some games don't show up after entering their full name into the search box
I've noticed that games that have an ampersand '&' in their names won't show up in the results if you continue typing their name after that character.
For example, when I type "Mario &", it shows up the list of games named this way perfectly.
issue2_0
But when I continue typing (just pressing spacebar is enough - "Mario & "), something goes wrong, which ends up showing no games at all (this probably happens with all games containing '&' in their names, but it doesn't happen when the game title contains ':' instead).
issue2_1

3. "Pokémon Moon" entry-specific issues
This specific game entry feels like it's 'floating' or is 'pinned' in the list since while searching for Pokémon games, the list puts "Pokémon Moon" at the first place, ignoring the alphabetical order of other games.
issue3_0
Moreover, when trying to fully type the title of this game, it simply disappears.
issue3_1

I've also noticed that the entries for Pokémon games (individual versions of them) were split, so for example, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y have their own game entries now, but the wiki entries are not split (when opening an entry, the wiki part says 'Pokémon X and Y' instead of 'Pokémon X' or 'Pokémon Y'). Should I split them?

Some humble suggestions for improvng CONTRIBUTING.md.

So, I recently spent some time contributing to the code portions of the citra-games-wiki and just thought I'd take the time to make a case for some changes:

Corrections

  • CONTRIBUTING.md shows "USA","EUR", et cetera, (upper case) as valid values for the region keyword (under releases); however, In order for a game.dat file to pass the automated test on TravisCI, it necessitates that the region codes be lower case ("usa", "eur", et cetera): CONTRIBUTING.md should be changed to reflect this.

Removals

  • Removing the descriptions from game.dat. CONTRIBUTING.md recommends sourcing these descriptions from Wikipedia; this seems like a needless tedium and irrelevant to the actually goal of this wiki. We could just as well have keywords for publisher, developer, genre, but we don't, because they aren't necessary.

Additions

  • While we're on the topic of things that aren't necessary, I thought I'd make a case for adding comments to the testcases. I feel we should have comments for the same reason git-commits have messages: they offer an at-a-glance overview of what's actually changed between builds or a transition to different platform. Plus, they could be sourced and added to the actual wiki section.
  • A lot can go wrong in the process of dumping and de-crypting a ROM, plus, for games that have received patches or updates over their lifespan, it remains ambiguous as to which version of the game was being tested. I believe adding checksums to the testcases would help alleviate these issues by offering a crystal-clear identifier for the ROM being used: distinguishing between good and bad ROMs as well as older and newer versions of a game.

Changes

  • The current TravisCI test requires at least one release and testcase for each game.dat file; I advocate for removing this necessity primarily because of "needs_system_archive" and "needs_shared_font" variables: having these documented is, itself, information that I would consider useful, even without an actual testcase.
  • The current stand-in boxart, for eshop games, is to take a screenshot of the game's title screen. This makes it difficult to create a boxart.png for games with a particularly animated title screen and out-right impossible for games that, for compatibility reasons, don't render a title screen. I suggest coming up with an alternative to this.

So... you guys know where I stand on this. I thought I'd just make a case for why I ignored CONTRIBUTING.md where I did in my initial pull request. I'm alright with these suggestions being rejected but, regardless, I would very-much appreciate clarification on why these standards were decided in the first place.

Some game icons are broken on the website

This probably has to do with the icon.png being "16-bit sRGB" instead of "8-bit sRGB" as with most other files.

I'm not sure if we should (A) fix the validation script, (B) change the contribution guidelines or (C) fix the website (which probably converts these images poorly).
Maybe we should even do all of these.

Audio rendering bug

The Lego Batman games (Lego Batman 2 and 3) audio is broken. The audio in the cutscenes is broken and plays the last third of an audio line first then plays the first and second. There is also a large blast of audio static at the start of all clips

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy - Curtain Call runs but is unplayable

Hello there!
The game mostly works fine, no graphic problems, the speed is good and it runs at 60 FPS all the time on my computer. :D

The only huge problem is that the music have latency and is delaying itself further and further from the inputs seen on screen which makes the game unplayable! You can't play a rhythm game if the rhythm is wrong sadly...
I don't know why the music is delaying itself because the game runs perfectly at 60 all the time, maybe it has to be with the way audio is handled by the emulator?
I tried playing it on the last version downloaded today (16/03/18) on the website. I tried on both Canary and Nightly and they have the same issue... :/

I have no input delay though, I heard that was a thing but that bug seems to have been corrected! It's just the audio that's delayed now. ;)
I play with a Wacom Tablet and I also tried a controller, they both do the same so it change nothing to the problem. I also tried to mess with different settings but nothing seems to change anything audio related... :/

Thanks a lot for working on this emulator, you guys are awesome! I hope this problem may help you improve that amazing project! And have a nice day! :D

Update old entries

We have added new fields to our testcases - namely, CPU, GPU and operating system. Could you guys please open up PRs to fix that?

Take a look at the contribution guide for examples on how to do this.

Virtual Console Box Art And E-Shop Box Art Resolution Confusion

In The Contributing guide It Says
and i Quote

The required process for getting Virtual console Boxart is: Downsize it to approximately 328x300

But If you go-to the Add A Game Section it says

If this is a eShop title, the game's homescreen should be used instead. In this case, the image should be a compressed .png of 500x300.

There is nothing about Virtual Console Box Art

Fantasy Life - Conflicting summary and compatibility rating

From the summary:

Fantasy Life has few problems in Citra. Graphically, the game suffers from minor issues, but requires decent hardware to obtain mediocre speed. It suffers from minor audio issues at times, but this does not hinder gameplay in any way.

However, the compatibility is rated as bad.

Miitopia 3DS Mii issue

grabbed a screenshot before it crashed, its the EU release I think? But IDK what the hell to do with this. I'm gonna see if other regions work better.

Mario Party: Star Rushs wiki article doesn't get linked to it's page in the compat list

Almost ALL Sega Ages games crash upon start, Please fix?

Sadly, the Sega Ages games like Sega Ages Thunder Blade and Outrun will crash when trying to start the game. Basically, the games will let you get into the menus but that's it.

For collectors, these games are a real find as they are enhanced/extended version of the original games faithful to the original. Alas, almost ALL of them fail to proper load.

Could someone look into this?

Stella Glow

Played entire game to true ending and only noticed one problem. An early game enemy, specifically the green slime, does not render during attack animations. All the other monsters encountered appear correctly including several palette swapped versions of slime, but not the earliest variety that you encounter. You encounter them within the first few fights of the game. They appear just fine on the battle map, but are invisible during attack animations.

Miitopia - Conflicting summary and compatibility rating

From the summary:

Miitopia has some problems in Citra. Graphically, the game suffers from minor issues ... It suffers from minor audio issues at times ... You may experience areas that one cannot progress in due to the lack of software keyboard emulation.

However, the compatibility is rated as perfect.

Super Mario 3d Land

so I finished the main game and haven't reached the minus worlds yet but the whole problem for it is that I open the game and it ends up on a white screen when I press start
