Any chance to get MIDI support on Linux any time soon?

FreeShow keeps freezing up. I have to force close and lose all my work without being able to save. I'm running Mac Mini M1 With 8 GB Ram. I'm presenting to external tv screen. Please advise.

• hay problema con algunos videos; en vista previa si se reproducen pero no se reproducen en la salida.
• Al cambiar de un video a otra, el nuevo video no inicia desde el inicio, sino desde el tiempo en que estaba el primer video.
• El problema mayor es cuando una carpeta tiene mayor cantidad de archivos de video, el consumo de cpu se incrementa demaciado hasta llegar a bloquear todo, la única forma es apagar bruscamente el cpu y volver a iniciar. con carpetas con pocos (entre 5 a 10) archivos funciona bién.
• mi laptop es Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7300HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz, Ram 8GB con windows y linux manjaro

This is the best piece of software that I have found in a while! I am helping plant a church and this has saved us! I don't think we will need ProPresenter! There are a few bugs that I have noticed (I might make more issues), but the main thing that has bothered me is that I can't change the clock on the main interface or the stage display to be a 12-hour clock.

at times, the program does not respond and clicking on multiple objects in the window does not give any preview or output on second screen.
Therefore, when I try to quit the program to start again, it does not respond and stays on the screen and keeps running.
"force quit" is the only way to quit the program every time when I start Freeshow. Thats not a great experience!

I tried to use the scripture feature and I have found a few issues but I might just be a bit thick.

1. The "max verse per slide" was set to 5, but this was not obeyed. The issue also persisted after I created a show of the scripture. ref. image attached
   a. I just figured out that this is mainly for the Header, text, blue header. The others were fine.
2. A double click on a verse will present it, but if you want more than one verse a show must be created? Lets say the pastor say he will read 3 verses, I create a show for that and then he suddenly wants to read 2 more? How can I easily add those? What would be nice is if I could double click on the first verse, hold shift and arrow down or click to just add more verses on the fly. If I see that the slide is overflowing, either the text will automatically adjust the text size or I can just click on the next verse and repeat the process.
3. When going to scripture I would very much like to have autofocus on the search field to avoid unnecessary mouse movement. That being said I am missing shortcuts and if they exist they could be shown by hovering the mouse over the the menu or something similar.
4. Where is the norwegian bible?
5. Going to the list of bibles, it would be great to have a search feature.
6. Possibility to show bible verses in two different languages

When clicking on a date with an event and right-clicking an event in the sidebar, none of the options work.

Tried to import songbook from Videopsalm, but the instructions are not correct I believe. It is stated that one should find a .vpc file but it seems like VS is using .json. I tried to import the .json-file, but it did not work and I got no error message either.

noticed that the areas shown marked with the mouse pointer does not accept button clicks. Other areas I have checked so far does so.
shortcuts image: hovering over the center of the "X" does not enable click. One must have the pointer in the lower regions of the "X".

Help menu: the clickable area does not extend all the way to the right, but on the other menus it does. Well apart from the View menu

Setting max verse per slide does not work properly

Click on the tab, (tab shown below), will soft lock freeshow.

There is another bug that is unresponsive when opening an existing show and the show contains a full lyric. Here's a video of it. It also exist in 0.3.4. Hope it help

On remoteshow, clicking on a presentation will make everything in every tab disappear in remoteshow:

The loop button on the media doesn't toggle the loop, so the video stays still after it has ended. I have dragged and dropped the video onto the first slide in the show.

During checking out the stage view, I encountered following issues (if it is currently WIP then just keep it as a reminder :) :
Styling:

• Changing font size or alignment has no (immediate) effect (not sure whether it changes at all, sometimes it does...)
• Font size of slides with multiple text boxes has only effect on first (e.g. scripture text: text is small, but scripture (book, chapter) with bigger font size)
• Stage view output has fixed resolution. Responsive design would be nice.

Current/Next Slide box:

• Inserting fields just display the text, but no graphics/video/images/overlays are shown
• Scaling the bounding box just crops the content but not scaling it. (Multiview not possible)

General:

• Timers for video displaying only text "time#video_countdown" but no actual values

• Renaming of stage views: no response/dialog

• Feature: output destination for stage view on different local graphic output to feed the stage monitor from presenting computer

• General: displays with different DPI. Output doesn't care for effective resolution. E.g. 1080p display with 150% DPI scaling results in limited used output size in web browser. Expected behavior: 1080p output is properly scaled to fit even with higher DPI.

Should not current only show what is current in the slides and be auto updated on changes?
Also note the glitch in the "current" headline. Instead of hiding the headline I assume a scrollbar should appear? Scrollbar only appears after both "current" and "Global" are completely covered.

Autosize changes text to one line

When importing a PDF file with more than 10 pages, the pages 1-9 appear only as black slide without content. Page 10 and all following are as expected.

Platform: Win11 Home - 10.0.22621 Build 22621

Following steps lead to an unresponsive app with no way to close the timer dialog (and not using the app anymore):

• Add a new timer on a blank slide
• Rightclick on timer => Edit
• Type a new timer name
• Confirm with "edit" => not able to close timer dialog window

When clicking the present button, it shows this error, I do not have a second monitor plugged in or a projector, so this could be the reason for this error.

I added a couple of backgrounds to a song. If I click on bullet No.1 the verse is shown with a background as it should. If I click on bullet No. 2, the same background image is shown on live. If I choose a new song bullet 3 and 4 the projection will show the last image clicked on e.g. bullet no. 1.

I tested your worship presentation software, that is FreeShow, and I find it really interesting.
I tested that in a Windows computer. But I was able to verify while using the impossibility to use other font styles than those of your softwrare. And I work with several font styles, and Bebas Neue font style primarily.

In a new version of your software, should it be possible to use font styles installed in the computer or should it be possible to install the Bebas Neue font style. Please find attached the Bebas Neue font style to this message.

When clicking on a date, the sidebar shows the wrong date.

Hi,

I copied a song from google doc and freeshow did not obey the verses defined. I then tried to first paste the song into notepad, copy and then paste into freeshow and I got the same result. Every slide contains no more than two lines.

I corrected the text size using the template, but still there are just two lines in each slide.
I went into the second slide, copied the text and pasted it into the first slide. It did not accept this action. I had to manually type in the text I wanted.

When clicking to add a new timer, everything becomes unresponsive, like a softlock.

Tried to disable a slide which went fine. When the slide is disabled, the menu when right-click again should state "enable" and not "disable".

Editing the vertical alignment of templates has no effect. It keeps always centered. By doing this with single text slides it works.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Go to templates
2. Right click => Edit
3. Change vertical alignment
4. Expected behavior: Text is on top/center/bottom

Tried copy-pasting lyrics from the web browser to Freeshow while creating new show and the lyrics cannot be pasted inside the text box where I used to create songs before. Only seen in this version 0.5.3

• I tried pasting it other places. Paste from clipboard works on other apps on the Macbook pro. So Freeshow is unable to paste from clipboard.
• I have to manually type the lyrics line-by-line to create a show.
• This is also seen when you edit the song later. I cannot copy and paste or cut and paste from one slide to another slide. I have to manually type in one slide to add words or edit them. Also, I have to delete them rather cut them.

Click on scripture tab does not automatically activate search feature. One must select text or similar before it is activated.
This requires an extra click.

looking at the new and shiny version of Freeshow and even though the program is very good, only critique ends up here :)

Now to the point. I tried to delete a verse from a song which I opened from a project. I did not just double click on the song from "Shows". Little did I know that this would affect the song in the songbook and the verse was deleted from the song. I think this is a poor design and songs in a project should be decoupled from the source so that the source is unaffected. Source should only be altered by choosing from the bottom menu and then edit. A warning should appear informing that the source will be edited as well.

Freeshow is amazing software, it has a lot of potential, but I miss an option to fetch images and lyrics directly from the web. In the "media" tab, there could be a "web" category to search for images from a site with an API free of charge like Pexels. You could save them locally or just use them temporarily. Lyrics could follow the same logic.

When importing a powerpoint presentation it uses the text from the slides but puts it in a template. My expected behaviour is: the original powerpoint presentation with all styling/layout is imported as-it-is.

Did I miss some options during the importing?

As of right now, if I understand correctly, Slides have all of their formatting stored in themselves. So far, you can apply templates, but that can cause some issues. Also, looking forward, it would be great to have the ability to do multiple outputs. Changing the way that templates work would help in that regard (imo).

To summarize, it would be nice for slides to only store the "text, media, etc", but not the formatting. Templates would then define how the slides look.

Use case: Dragging to select a portion of lyrics to remove, dragged a little too far outside of the box and released and window closes. (I assume clicking outside of the box is a way to close it.) Results in lost progress making minor edits to the pasted lyrics.

We importer some media files but the search box is not working within these files.

it works well on the Biblie scriptures but not in Media

I want to say first, thank you so much for making this software as an alternative to other presentation software like ProPresenter which we can't afford but you are giving this for free. I hope this will be a successful app and you yourself too. Godbless to you

anyways I will list the bug that I experienced :

• copy and paste or the CTRL + C or V doesn't work (I don't know if you added this though so it might not be a bug)
• duplicate button is always unavailable or greyed out.
• Deleting using the delete key doesn't work in editing slides.
• sometimes the software is unresponsive as I press things it won't do anything but I can move it through the screens.
• I can't present if I put the app in fullscreen but if not in fullscreen I can present.

Hi Vassbo, I recently discovered some bugs and would love to fix them, but i am having issues setting up the app, first issue was with the build:electron:dev command,

error TS7016: Could not find a declaration file for module 'builder-util-runtime'. '//Projects/OS/freeshow/node_modules/builder-util-runtime/out/index.js' implicitly has an 'any' type.
  Try `npm i --save-dev @types/builder-util-runtime` if it exists or add a new declaration (.d.ts) file containing `declare module 'builder-util-runtime';`

had to disable the noImplicitAny for now, but even after that, when i run start:electron, i get a whole new set of error

App threw an error during load
Error: Cannot find module 'OS/freeshow/node_modules/sqlite3/lib/binding/napi-v6-darwin-unknown-arm64/node_sqlite3.node'

I suspect it's because of i am on an M1 machine. Do you have any workaround or docs you could share. Thanks

Why does this error message appear? Why do you publish linux .AppImage if it is not supported?

First I can't get any video other than the one you have included in the Example to work. Every other video gives a Video Unavailable Watch on YouTube message.

Second when ever you play the video and try and go to the next shows slide the video stays and you are required to click Clear all to get the video to go away.

When I open freeshow it turns my computer screen black and does not let me open any other tabs.

I wonder if it is possible or if it can be implemented to access a shared google calendar and show the content in the freeshow calendar? I like the monthly view already present, and if it can be filled with content like in google calender (see image) that would be great.

Sorry for commenting on a lot of things that I believe are bugs or lack of features. I find this project very interesting and I believe it fits or will fit my/church needs and we can replace easyworship altogether.
So todays bug/feature request is to have the possibility to copy a slide by ctrl-drag-n-drop. Now a copy icon pops up, but it actually just moves the slide. In order to copy, it seems like I have to make a copy and then move it.

When selecting multiple dates, an event should say the date beside it, Like "• e - Jan. 13"

version 0.5.3 for macOS Big Sur
These are specifically queries for scripture:

1. How do I change the verse number colours in template? It is coded and designed from backend?
2. When I change font size and style, I can see the scripture change in the show (It also changes the colour of the verse numbers and makes it same as verse words) but then when I double click on the verse list below in scripture, it shows the older font size and verse colour style. How can we have more customisation in that?

All videos that I add to my project will show the sound on the visualizer as if it is coming from the right and left channels, but in reality it is only coming from the right speaker. I have only tested this on Windows.
