A shift-and-lift approach it’s OK when you start your cloud migration journey, but what comes after? Well, to modernize your workloads to a more cloud-native approach with Docker and Kubernetes. However, many components will need to change and might take a lot of effort from the team. Not all applications are a good candidate, and for some time you’ll have to work with hybrid workloads. In this talk, I’ll share a few tips and recommendations on how to modernize incrementally your VM-based applications to Kubernetes. For instance, you can minimize downtimes with a canary release approach. Even if you’re not considering modernizing your workloads yet, in this talk you’ll learn about migration strategies, Docker, Kubernetes, and a few other open-source projects.
