I can setup a GitHub action that could automatically build, sign, and push the extension/addon to the respective stores (Firefox AMO, Chrome Store). It could then trigger whenever a tag is added to a commit and also push the artifacts to Releases as well (signed). Would there be interest in this? Any secrets like AMO/Chrome authentications could be added to https://github.com/Chatterino/chatterino-browser-ext/settings/secrets and be called with a variable in the workflow (running on GitHub servers) and wouldn't be seen by anyone except collaborators.

Ever since the new layout came out the chatterino extension makes the whole site small when watching someone

Don't overlay the chat on twitch.tv/videos pages, right now it just blocks chat there without showing anything relevant

sadly when I activate the chatterino browser extension while having the bttv left chat enabled the chat dows not move to the left. it just blocks my following list and the chat space is empty while saying
"Chatterino should be here ..." please fix. I love left chat. FeelsDankMan <3

The browser is quite comfortable, and the move from Chrome was real easy (Chrome had far too many memory and CPU-consuming issues for me to even bother staying with it). However, my beloved Chatterino no longer works!

Open /watching tab in chatterino but don't replace the webchat in the browser.

I recently got chaterino and it was fine but now I'm not able to send messages when I'm on chatterino. It's not a Twitch issue with a fast chat, I tried sending messages in a chat with 0 viewers, still doesn't work

Unrelated to that issue, I also had an issue before that one which made it so I wasn't able to hear the noise for when I get pinged

When you open a few streams and switch between them it crashes chatterino (with extension enabled of course).

Opening a twitch window in a new tab makes chatterino stop working

whenever i open up a stream all i see in the chat is "chatterino should show up here. Try deselecting and selecting the page. Chatterino also needs to be running."

If you middle click anything in the header it folds the chat.

In some circumstances, the injected HTML div gets replaced by Twitch:

The extension still works to show Chatterino in the correct position, but the custom error message doesn't show behind it. This also disables the extension's custom collapse button.

Describe the bug
Chatterino extension causes disconnecting and reconnecting when switching channels on chrome with chatterino extension.

if you switch tabs really fast ur chatterino will crash.

To reproduce
open 2 tabs of 2 different channels, focus chat and switch between the 2

I think the new UI update broke the padding between the player and chatterino. In theater mode it looks good but when in the normal player mode it doesn't extend the player to the edge.

Reproduction scenario:

1. Type something in chatterino
2. Change chrome tab
3. Change it back to the tab where you have typed something
4. The typed content is deleted

Right now you have only 1 choice, enable it and attach chatterino to your browser and add use the watching tab. But not a option where you can only have the "Watching" tab working. Unticking the box Replace chat in the extension setting would disable the complete extension and you "Watching" tab wont work anymore.

Settings don't save when the browser is restarted

idk what the format is but here is the issue, chatterino crashes instantly when the native chat loads. I've heard that this next issue is because of native chat, crashes occur when changing tab and tabbing in and out while native is up on twitch. (the first bug is a new issues from the 2.3.0 update and the second one has been happening for a long time)

When a channel goes live, the notification is hidden under the chatroom

Fullscreening the stream by using a hotkey(f) doesnt hide the chat window

Describe the bug
When using the extension directly in the browser or when the [watching] tab is used on the desktop client the text seems to bug up and it cant decide what row to stay on. Its like something invis is changing size to the right or something with the chatbox so the text has to reformat to fit. Also while this issue is present the chat wont stop going to newest message when srcolling back in chat, the fix below will however solve this temporarily aswell.

To reproduce
This can be reproduced by having the chat open in client[watching tab] or directly on twitch and the text flickering will be there from when i click open the stream, this will refresh upon switching stream. And to fix it temporarily in client i need to switch tab then go back, and for the extension i need to interact with it in some way like ctrl + r(sometimes) and close it or clicking into the chatbox and it will stop trying to format and work until i repeat previous steps.

Did some more testing before i sent this and any focus to firefiox with chat open will make it start formatting flicker. And a loss of focus will fix it untill focus is given back. Also clicking the chatbox area will fix it as long its clicked waiting for me to write something. Clicking out again will resume the formatting flicker.

If chatterino is currently attached to a Chrome window and you middle-click Twitch in your bookmarks to open in a new tab, Chatterino detaches from the current tab.

In the chrome console, doing this triggers a "get-settings" followed by a "detach" message.

if you have a video in picture in picture mode it takes the chat with it
To reproduce

a 1 in 100 chance to reproduce but have a video in picture in picture mode then open a twitch chat and it will try to load the chaterino chat on top of the video

@pajlada Since this occurred on the latest version and the last build, it's likely extension related - possibly that it's not updated on the Chrome/Firefox store(?) This also doesn't crash if you just open the player (without chat)

Describe the bug
When trying to attach a chat to browser which is not open in the main window chatterino crashes. When opening it first in the main window it works.

To reproduce
Try attaching to browser on a channel which is not open in the main chatterino window.

:) hi i just had an idea for ur next update in chatterino. a feature that would allow u to minimize specific channels so you wouldnt see them in ur tab but they are still there in the backround and a button on maybe the top right that would expand & minimize it to what it is right now (for those who put alot of channels to farm gifted subs) mine currently takes up half the screen LUL

sorry if this is the wrong the place, i couldn't figure out how to do pull request. I want to use the extension and channel points at the same time. is this possible????

Reproduction scenario:

1. Resize Chrome so the chat is collapsed
2. Maximize Chrome window.
3. Un-maximize it.
4. Chat is collapsed in Chrome, but chatterino window is visible.

Since the browser extension currently only works on Windows, it seems sensible to display a warning message when running on a different OS.

Describe the bug
With the new twitch player the chat is not removed when you go into fullscreen, then again i can see this as a feature also! I really like being able to have the chat on the side while in fullscreen

Could be related to having the custom resolution scale set to - Custom 115 %

I believe that the Chatterino window should render between the official chat header and footer bars without removing them.

Personally I like the built-in Twitch header with the official viewer list more than Chatterino's especially when you want to view a usercard. Additionally, the footer contains user chat settings like color and the channel points.

This should also provide more functionality for users, as loading the elements should allow channel points to actually be gained and used. Another possible feature to attempt would maybe be drawing official chat banners (such as predictions) on top of Chatterino if the appropriate elements can be loaded to allow so but I don't know if that would be possible.

Just to call it out: Personally, even if the official chat has to be loaded behind the chatterino chat for this to work, I would find that worthwhile to do. It could be an optional toggle in settings.

Occurs when opening a twitch channel

Chatterino Nightly 2.2.2 (commit b67e20d96, 27.09.2020) - Windows 10

When I use theater mode it overlays the stream, when I try to collapse it, it shows the actual space but nothing in it. Using firefox, haven't tested on chrome yet.

Edit:
This only occurs in firefox, have disabled all plugins in firefox to confirm it's not FFZ or anything else.

Exactly the same as chatterino: the ability to hold Ctrl and readjust the size of the window

opening the chat shows regular twitch chat without chatterino even when you have the browser addon installed

Describe the bug
When switching between tabs, the extension loses any text I wrote.

To reproduce
Write something without sending the message, switch between tabs, go back to the tab with the Chatterino extension window. Everything I wrote is gone.

This problem have started to happen from time to time, if i after doing something else tabs to a twitch window that have the chatterino extension active, the chat start to swap chat line colors back and forth until i change to another window or target the specific chat.

Describe the bug

Mentions lit up even when I'm not in their channel. I was however in their channel earlier; but no longer have twitch open.

To Reproduce

Install chatterino extension

1. Open mentions tab
2. Open stream
3. Close stream
4. Get another person to ping you - it should show in your mentions tab despite you not being in the channel

Expected behavior

It should the person should not be able to ping you. You should not be in the channel once it is closed.
