debian64pi's Issues

Poor performance when compare to other 32/64 bit OS

I bench-marked your 64-bit Debian release (10th January 2020), 32-bit official raspbian OS and 64-bit Ubuntu Pi Server. However, I find that my computationally expensive program takes 2.5x longer time to complete on 64-bit Debian. I wonder what makes such difference.

Questions and features

  1. it would be nice to see the actual system dependencies required; I had to figure out what qemu dependencies were required. (This is OS-dependent; I'm running the installation on a pi4 itself.)
  2. Does it resize the partition table on boot on a successful installation?
  3. It got an error at the end of stage1.sh, saying mkdir: cannot create directory ‘/tmp/pi-kernel’: File exists. I haven't had a chance to try the build yet; this may be an outlier.

Can this work on HDD ?

Hi and Thanks for this project.

I test your prebuild image. All work fine with sdcard.
Is there a workaround to do the same on HDD ?
I have a pi 3b+ and doesn’t boot with hdd ?

Documentation request

It's worth noting that the default user/password for the image is "debian/debian" - not hard to figure out but it'd be nice to be explicit. Will file a PR when I get time, and IF I get time.
