[Question]: How would you preserve state between routes navigation?

Came here through Astro's Pinned Tweet of this demo, May I ask you if you could provide some hints on how would you preserve state through different routes navigation, I've already read the docs about transition:persist.

What I'm trying to achieve with your demo is very simple, in theory, which is adding a small activity indicator under links and make that indicator animate left and right smoothly to the center of the link that's currently active.

Here's is a Stackblitz demo forked from your's to show what I'm talking about https://stackblitz.com/~/github.com/moaali/astro-3d-view-transitions

Currently if you viewed this demo you will see that the indicator always shows at the correct position but with no animation like if the navigation component is re-rendered on each route navigation.

Any quick thoughts?
