web's Issues

Mode of operation

The How page suggests using G+. I agree that it's expedient, but I'm not sure that it's such a great idea overall; notably for visibility. G+ has a number of active users that is within the margin of error of existing at all.

I would suggest an option that is just as simple but is universal to developers and sees a lot more usage: GitHub. I think each chapter can get its page, subdirectory, whatever on this very repo, and can just update the content there. A quick Jekyll setup and we're rolling.

Then of course event registration and remote participation can use whatever. But I'd be leery of relying too much on G+. It's just MySpace all over again.

Center alignment

Center alignment is nice for titles and short blurbs of text, but it becomes harder to read for full paragraphs. I recommend switching those to left. I think it is also an accessibility issue.

Drop Bootstrap

Bootstrap is nice for complicated layout, but I think this is really a case in which it is completely overkill.

Font size of `ol`

The font size becomes dramatically smaller for the list items; is this really desirable? Why not keep the same size as for paragraphs?

Insufficient contrast on How

The white on light grey for the How page is hard to read to me with 20/20 eyesight, I suspect it is not at all accessible. Also, the background image has strong JPEG artefacts.

"Tightening the Standards Feedback Loop"

I'm not sure that this is the best slogan. As a developer, I'm not sure I care about that.

Maybe "Standards By The People" or "Taking Over Standards". Or "Hacking Standards Into Shape"?

Fonts should be local

There is no reason to give Google more tracking information than it is already taking.
