cc-ubuntu's Issues

cc-ubuntu20.04 fails to sync time using ntpd

Still collecting info. cc-ubuntu20.04 fails to sync time when using ntpd (installed in our image by default).

Running ntpq -gqd to sync one and then exit never completes.

Tweak default env-vars for CUDA image

Reported by Arun. Add to .bashrc:

export PATH=/usr/local/cuda-8.0/bin${PATH:+:${PATH}}
export PATH=/usr/local/cuda/bin:$PATH
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/cuda/lib64:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export CUDA_HOME=/usr/local/cuda:$CUDA_HOME

virtualenv installed incorrectly on cc-ubuntu20.04

Running virtualenv returns ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'virtualenv.seed.via_app_data'

which virtualenv shows the executable in /usr/local/bin/virtualenv
dpkg -l | grep virtualenv shows that python3-virtualenv is installed.

However, pip show virtualenv shows that it's also installed into /usr/local/lib/python3.8/dist-packages

Doing the following fixes the issue:

  • pip uninstall virtualenv
  • apt install --reinstall python3-virtualenv

It appears that pip installs virtualenv on these lines, from this requirements file.
