Auto Moderation

As discussed previously the first X (i.e. five) posts of every new member should be moderated by default.

Advise/Vote Listing (similar to #8)

User 247 (MacOS/Safari) has already replied to a dilemma (dilemma posted by User 244 "User244 (CC/Mac OS/Chrome): Sex Dilemma 02 (of 999)” http://54.68.238.85/view/35), but is asked to advise on this again:

Issue also occurs with other posts, so can be replicated.
(Edit: I re-run run log, has not changed).

iPhone w/ Chrome issue

When replying using iPhone (with Chrome) screen gets very confusing, when trying to reply to a dilemma (does not happen with iOS Safari):

Advise/Vote Listings

User 247 (MacOS/Safari) posted a Dilemma.
Now been suggested to reply to own Dilemma

All own dilemmas seem to be listed under “Advise” until the dilemma gets to the voting stage?

Ad spaceholder still in website

Please remove.
Also when sharing the website (i.e. copy and paste link), the thumbnail is that advert.

Please change to something else, more appropriate, i.e. Dilemma "?"

Refreshing Website

User is on site. Used it, posted a Dilemma then went inactive for a few minutes.
When returning, he refreshes (hit refresh button) to see if anything happened.

Following messages comes:

MacOS/Chrome

WebPurify

For every post made, I get an email from WebPurify to [email protected]
Please disable so that it will only send notification if there are 'explicits'

Abusive language

When trying to post a dilemma using bad language Webpurify picks it up.
Might be worth highlighting this better though, i.e. bigger font, or colour that stands out

EF6 Migrations not working

From the Package Managere console I ran:

Enable-Migrations
which produced:
No context type was found in the assembly 'Dilemma.Web'.

This is because the data project is different than the initialization project.

Enable-Migrations -ProjectName Dilemma.Data -StartUpProjectName Dilemma.Web -Verbose

allowed migrations to run as expected.

New Dilemma categories

When posing a new dilemma, the 'Relationship' category is pre selected.
Would be better, if it would say 'PLEASE SELECT'.

Flag/Flagged buttons

After flagging/reporting a post, the button does change.
However this does looks odd (on all browsers: MacOS Chrome, Safari, Firefox)

ourdilemmas

Action after all answer slots were used.

User247 (CC/Mac OS/Safari) replied to User244 (CC/Mac OS/Chrome)’s dilemma (‘Personal Issue 01’) using the last answer slot:

From his view:
image

Answer moderated, run logs redone.
Left 15 mins, re-done.

User244 (CC/MacOS/Chrome) does not get notification about this, or about the fact that he can ‘star vote’/‘follow up'

User251 (CC/Win/Firefox) can see the dilemma and all three replies (including his own).
He can vote.

When User244 (CC/MacOS/Chrome) searches for that post (currently possible, due to limited amount of posts on page), he does find it the question and can star vote.

User Rank 'Counter'

New user created (can't confirm user ID).
1 new Dilemmas posed, but counter shows 2:

ourdilemmas

Notification Counts are wrong

Notification counts in the sidebar don't line up with the notifications counts on the profile page, which don't line up with the actual number of notifications.

Voting on own advices

User 247 (CC/Mac/Safari) replied to a Dilemma (User 244, Personal Issue 2).
After question closed, he could also vote for his own advise?

I believe it was said, that one could not vote on own advices.

Question Time Lines

Hi Casey, as I see it there are three stages in a questions time line.

  1. Days a question remains open for answers - obviously this becomes irrelevent on those that get all answer slots filled
  2. Days a question remains open for votes
  3. Days a question remains open for star vote, follow up etc.

I reckon we should be looking at 5 days for each stage.

What do you think?

Lag/delay/cannot post Advise

Happens regularly (different users, different browsers and platform.

User writes reply.
Presses 'Advise' button, website does not react and post is not made:

ourdilemmas

Moderation queue

Moderation queue does not show as list, but as single items.
Would not know how many moderation to-dos there are?
Might be easier to have a list view or at least a count (i.e. 101 posts awaiting moderation)

Edit to #22 & #23

It seems like hitting the refresh button (Issue #22 ) has re-posted the same Dilemma again.
It shows up twice in the user profile.

Presumably #23 is therefore not an issue.

Star Vote > No automatic 'follow up' screen

User244 (CC/MacOS/Chrome) just star voted one of the advices given to his dilemma.
Once done, he should have the option to immediately provide his ‘follow up’.

Screen does look like this though:
image

Only after refreshing the site manually, or going back into it (I.e. Via notifications), does the “What did you do?” box appear.
That does disturb the user journey quite a bit and decreases likelihood of people writing a follow up.

Question about Layout

Scenario:
User sees a Dilemma that already has a reply, and also wants to add a reply.

On desktop, user has visibility of other potential answers:
image

If we want the user to view previously given replies, layout on phone is not ideal, as the other advices are lower and it is not clear that one can/should scroll down:
image

Dilemma not being marked as 'Rejected' after moderation is rejected

  1. Post a dilemma
  2. As another user, report it
  3. Go to moderation and Reject the dilemma (moderation disappears)

Effect:
No notification is generated and the dilemma is still accessible

Expected:
The dilemma owner would get a notification and the dilemma would not be accessible

Additional:
The dilemma does not appear in the dilemmas list, so at least that's positive

Moderation/Flagging

User flagged/reported post.

Admin gets WebPurify email (is that related)?
But nothing in moderation cue (also after refreshing run log)

Notifications

Notifications work, but need to be more prominent.
Unless you look for them, it won’t be noticed. (fonts, colour etc same as rest of site).
On mobile notifications are not visible at all, unless I intentionally go to my profile and then scroll down a long way (bottom of potentially long list of "YOUR CURRENT DILEMMAS” & 'ADVICE YOU'VE GIVEN"

image

Duplicate Posting

Possibly also related to WebPurify?
When posting a Dilemma, system sometimes lags, user hits 'Post' button again, then 'Dilemma' is posted twice:

ourdilemmas

Flagged posts not being added to moderation queue

I've tried flagging a questions and answers from both on page in the question detailpage and neither of them actually cause the post to end up in the moderation queue. I've tried this from the home page and question details page on the the dilemma and answer. The id's and reason codes appear to move to be sent to the server correctly and a 200 is returned.

Site taking too long to post answers

User posted a reply. It contain swear words.
Webpurify picks it up and gives message.

User changes the wording (to correct, polite wording).
When hitting 'Advise' (i.e. reply button), nothing happens for a while (20 seconds), then only gets posted.

Profile Layout

capture

it would be great if the individual line items also acted as links - and if notifications sat above the rank picture

Text Change on FOLLOWUP

I think it would be good to encourage the questioner to also comment on the advice given. So to try and acheive this can we change the text on the Followup box from 'What did you do? to How did it Go? Did the Advice Help?
