This project illustrates a type of substitution in which each letter is shifted a certain number of places also known as a key, down the alphabet. In our case when encrypting we shift reverse 3 and on decryption we shift 3 keys forward. Example:

Plaintext: THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG

Ciphertext: QEB NRFZH YOLTK CLU GRJMP LSBO QEB IXWV ALD

project setup instructions

• Clone the project on github
• Open the code in IntelliJ
• Run the App.java file under src/main/java/modules

BDD

• Run the application
• On the terminal,a prompt will appear to either encrypt or decrypt
• If you choose encrypt, Write the plain text you have in mind
• An encrypted text will appear for the plain text
• If you choose decrypt, Write the encrypted text
• A plain text will appear
• Then exit to end the program
