vscode-kickass-c64's Issues

Publish vscode-kickass-c64 to Open VSX

Dear extension author,
Please publish this extension to the Open VSX marketplace.

Context

Unfortunately, as Microsoft prohibits usages of the Microsoft marketplace by any other products or redistribution of .vsix files from it, in order to use VS Code extensions in non-Microsoft products, we kindly ask that you take ownership of the VS Code extension namespace in Open VSX and publish this extension on Open VSX.

What is Open VSX? Why does it exist?

Open VSX is a vendor neutral alternative to the MS marketplace used by most other derivatives of VS Code like VSCodium, Gitpod, OpenVSCode, Theia-based IDEs, and so on.

You can read on about Open VSX at the Eclipse Foundation's Open VSX FAQ.

How can you publish to Open VSX?

The docs to publish an extension can be found here. This process is straightforward and shouldn't take too long. Essentially, you need an authentication token and to execute the ovsx publish command to publish your extension. There's also a doc explaining the whole process with an example GitHub Action workflow.

[MacOS] Vice appears to not execute when I run this extension

Hello there,
So recently I've really been interested in developing applications for the Commodore 64 and I heard some really good things about your extension. I went through the process of filling out all the settings and the appropriate paths for the debugger and Vice. However, when I run this extension, Kick Ass and the debugger will run perfectly fine but Vice doesn't run with them at all. Is there any explainable reason for this?

Windows 10 Not Working

I have tried several Java versions and KickAss jars but cannot seem to get this extension to work? What settings are you using?

How to enable the language Server?

I cannot seem to get the language server work.
I setup everything but live compilation on source change does not start, thus there never are any error messages in the problem tab. It only compiles when called explicitely via command. And only then the problem tab is never filled by anything. It only shows the first occuring error in the output tab.
Also hovering over labels, literals, mnemonics does not do anything.
What is the language server (implemented since 1.3 according to changelog) actually doing or what am i doing/expecting wrong?

I am using KickAss 5.11 and latest vscode 1.41 as well as openjdk 1.3 and Windows 10

Run w/o Debugging uses only C64 debugger

I am newbie on Visual Studio and C64 assembly. I can get everything running only through the debugger. 'Start Debugging' runs fine. 'Run without Debugging' still execute the debugger but only the C64 screen. I can go into settings and uncheck 'Debug and run with Debugger'. Then executing 'Run without Debugging' goes directly to Vice and I can run my program. I would be nice there was an option when executing 'Run without Debugging' always uses VICE w/o needing to go back to the settings.

Running Windows 10, VS 1.88, KickAss (C64) v1.5.0

A system error occurred (EPERM: operation not permitted, unlink 'bin/[')

I'm on an M1 mac os 13.2.1 and using vs code 1.17.2 with v1.5.0 of this extension. It ran once. I did a build after configuring my paths and it seemed to work. Then I tried a build and run to see if vice was configured correctly and got this message. Then every action "KickAss (C64): *" gives me this error including just trying to build again. I'm not sure how to get a better log/message out of that. I have VICE, C64 Debugger, and KickAss.jar installed in my user folder.

A system error occurred (EPERM: operation not permitted, unlink 'bin/[')
