About The Project

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started in early 2020, the initial reaction by a majority of the world was to shutdown--businesses, schools, sports, entertainment, etc. This conveys a sense that everyone is potentially infectious. With all the fear, uncertainty, and doubt, and now the ever-confusing situation / scientific data / opinions / news / etc. that seems to change on a weekly basis (if not more often), the mental health of families with kids is being stretched. Our kids require social interaction with their peers to continue developing their social and emotional intelligence. Of course, every child is different. Additionally, each age requires different experiences / people / etc.

Do you feel like talking to another parent about COVID-19 is "taboo" or awkward? Do you feel sad that your kids aren't seeing their friends like they used? Do you feel isolated? ... YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

The Connecting the Village Framework is designed to facilitate establishing an honest, open, and on-going dialog between families about their kids' social needs. Working together to establish trust, expectations, and coordinate childcare and educational opportunities.

This framework IS NOT intended to replace your child's education--rather it can be used to facilitate your child's experience as a socially-growing human being.

Contributing

Contributions are what make the open source community such an amazing place to be learn, inspire, and create. Any contributions to continuously improve this framework are greatly appreciated. The website is implemented in GitHub Pages within this repo. The master branch has the latest content.
