Your problem is not capistrano-bundler related at all.
Use the capistrano-rvm gem to get RVM support.
Or install a descent version of Ruby on the server.

Thanks for the hint.

Apparently my team member changed this line:

set :rvm_ruby_version, '2.0.0-p247'

to this :-(

set :rvm_ruby_string, '2.0.0-p247'

Reverting it back made my bundler happy again.

If this ruby version is your default in RVM, you should not have to define that at all.
capistrano-rvm is designed to be a drop-in solution. No configuration needed - at least for the most common / simple setup.
