Adding a share functionality here would be a great way to extend our reach beyond the browser. Shared items would redirect to an main blog post/page containing all elements.

An overlay explaining the new behavior would help avoid user confusion. The overlay can refer to the toggle and explain the user is going to be presented with a curated experience and they can find they're usual sites by hitting the toggle. [Edited by bwinton to use overlays because AMO doesn't like modal windows.]

Top-right corner could use a button/switch/toggle to let users deactivate thumbnails and revert back to default new tab experience when needed.

We probably don't want to mix Firefox curated images with user's most visited sites.
Can we assign a redirection link to each gif/image supplied in thumbnail-gifs.txt that the user would be taken to upon click?

About the "caption" at the bottom of each thumbnail: can we control this too or does it have to be the title of the page the thumbnail redirects to?

Following conversations with Madhava and Johnath, we could add an uninstall link at the bottom right corner to remove the add-on entirely or add time-bombing so the whole experience stops for all users after a given time (e.g. 2 weeks). Let's discuss what makes most sense.
