all the buttons are registering as pressed?

when I uploaded the test sketch to the arduino boards I have (nano and uno), and open up the serial monitor, it shows all the buttons being pressed all the time (the list keeps scrolling infinitely)
didn't edit anything.

B button activates all buttons

im using a pro micro, i copy paste the micro code and upload it

only button working is B and activates all 12 buttons

i think this gamepad is generic

i also tested "test controller" and i had same issue (modifying pin config) when pressin B prints all 12 buttons
