At the moment you can only spam click hard on MEMLA.exe, hoping that sooner or later the timing will be just about right for the utility to hook the game process after steam has re-initialized it (as opposed to doing it immediately when the process is scheduled to die soon).
Also, your "directly launch the exe" approach isn't the nicest thing to do with steam DRM.

If you want a smooth start, the only present workaround is using SteamEdit to have steam start memla, instead of MirrorsEdge.exe directly.

If you could have the utility also look for a secondary exectuable name, so that the ME exe could be renamed to it while memla takes its old name, you would quite streamline this for people.

Game shows false error after modifying DefaultGame.ini file, even if after clicking "OK" game starts and runs just fine. Tested with Pure Time Trial Map Pack restoration mod.
