• *Narrative Battle* Profile supports play with warscroll Battalions.

The Narrative Battle profile has limited validation. The Narrative Battle profile is where you'll find all the of the Battalion warscrolls.

Hi! I'm the Space Marines and Space Wolves maintainer on the 40k data repo and would love to join here too. With BS2 coming out I think I have some good ideas on how to properly implement the 3 point levels of matched play as well as their battlefield roles (being dual). I'd also be glad to maintain Seraphon if nobody else is (Go go Lizardmen!)

Khorne Bloodbound Issues

Listed in Allegiance as "Khrone Mortals" instead of "Khorne Mortals." Should include other units with MORTAL and KHORNE keywords, including those from Slaves to Darkness.

Mighty Skullcrushers should not be listed as Battleline units unless Lord of Khorne on Juggernaut is general of army.

Different weapon stats based on model type

I was trying to add the Stormcast Eternal units to the catalogue, but I ran into the following problem:
several units (e.g. the Liberators) have one model that is the unit leader. This is similar to the way 40K works, so that is not a problem.

However, being a unit leader modifies the number of attacks the model has with its weapon. As the attack is stored as part of the weapon stats, I was unable to figure out a way to allow for this, especially because the Liberators have multiple weapon options, so an entry group is required for the various weapons.

Do you see a way to make this work?

File organization

With the basic rules and the Warscrolls for legacy armies now available it might make sense to discuss how to organize the new files. Since units can now be mixed it might make sense to now_t_ have a single file per faction, but instead move to one file per Grand Alliance. From what I read so far it is still very unclear how army composition will work in detail, though.

Would starting on the files make sense at this point or is it better to wait until it is clearer how the system is supposed to work and the first per-unit Warscrolls come in with the new models?

Request: Battalions should enforce composition rules

If be really useful if, once a warscroll battalion is selected, it enforces minimum numbers of the required units.

AoS starter set warscrolls

How do we handle the AoS Starter set? There's a couple of issues with regards to the warscrolls in there.

1. The separately released Lord-Celestant is a different model from the Starter Set one, with different stats.
2. The Prosecutors are not available outside of the Starter Set, but might be released separately later on.
3. The Starter Set Liberators have fewer abilities and weapon choices compared to the separate set.

I'm sure there are also differences for the Chaos models.

How do we add the Starter Set models? Should it be a separate category altogether?

Units Missing From Grand Alliance: Death

All Units and Warscroll Battalions from the "Vampire Counts" (pg.151 Generals Handbook) and "Tomb Kings" (pg.150 Generals Handbook) are missing from the Death Grand Alliance file (Death.cat)
All these units have the "Death" Keyword and so are part of the Death Grand Alliance as per the rules from the "Allegiance" rule box on pg.156 in the Generals Handbook.

Tomb Kings "Skeleton Warriors" have an equipment option "Tomb Shield" the ones from the "Death Grand Alliance" section don't have but have the same points cost.

Just noticed if you set your allegiance as Scourge Privateers the Black Ark Corsairs are treated as Behemoth not battle-line. With an non-specific faction they are still treated as other.

Description: Hello, you have the wrong points cost for Gitmob Grots. Gitmob Grots are only 100 points for 20 not 120 points.

PSA: Constraints with "roster" scope on shared items - the "shared?" checkbox

Constraint, condition and repeat elements (queries) on shared elements have a mysterious "shared?" checkbox.

Short Answer: Check the "shared" box for big performance improvements! Version 2.00.05 checks the "shared" box by default.

Why?

If this checkbox is checked, the query works in a global way - like it did in 1.15.x. This means that all selections of the shared entry are counted towards the query, no matter the parent - i.e. all links to the entry count.

If left unchecked, the query works on a per entry basis, like a normal entry. This means only selections of this instance of the entry are counted towards the query, and the parent matters - i.e. only links to this entry on a particular parent entry count.

Consider:

1. The user selects one of both A and B in their roster, and selects S for both of them.

   • If the constraint has "shared" checked, this will give an error. The constraint is "max 1 S in roster". The user has selected two of S, which violates the constraint.

   • If the constraint does not have "shared" checked, no error will be given. The constraints are "max 1 A->S in roster" and "max 1 B->S in roster". The user has selected one of A->S and one of B->S, which does not violate the constraint.

2. The user selects two of A in their roster and selects S for both of them.

   • If the constraint has "shared" checked, this will give an error, like before. The constraint is "max 1 S in roster". The user has selected two of S, which violates the constraint.

   • If the constraint does not have "shared" checked, an error will still be given. The constraints are "max 1 A->S in roster" and "max 1 B->S in roster". The user has selected two of A->S, which violates the constraint.

This gives greater power over how you want a query to work. But great power = great responsibility blah blah.

Leaving the "shared" box unchecked means that the app must check the condition multiple times (for each parent) when validating for error messages. Each linked copy of the shared item must be checked.

Checking the "shared" box is much much faster, as the app only needs to check once, globally, that the condition is met/broken.

So check the box unless you have a good reason not to.

Version 2.00.05 (desktop) now checks this box by default.

Blood Warriors points incorrect

The points cost for blood warriors is incorrect. They are listed in the General's handbook as 100 points per 5 models and this repository has them listed as 120 per 5.

Hi guys.

BattleScribe 2.0 is coming and it contains some major changes to Data Editor and the data format.

While it should happily upgrade 1.15.x format data files to the new format, you never know what sneaky bugs might be lurking...

It would help a lot if you could run your data through it and make sure nothing gets broken so we have no nasty surprises on release day (whenever that might be...).

Description: The previous problem of not being able to select catalogue from the previous version has been fixed. The Order Grand Alliance is working well. The Chaos Grand Alliance will not let me select Leader, Leader/Behemoth, Behemoth, Artillery, Batteline, Other or Batteline. Description: There are no High Elves as an army - they have downloadable pdf with complete army, with warscrolls and battallions, they have been given points in General's Handbook.
There are a few units of high aelves (those placed in mini-subfactions: dragon related, phoenix related, and so on) but there is no Glittering Host battallion or any units without mini subfaction, like Silver Helms for example.

New point/allegiance system

Since the new General's Handbook it's here, and also Battlescribe 2.0 I think it's time to recompile all the files.

I've already done the main game system. Regarding the catalogs, I think it's better to have one for every Grand Alliance. Also, the first choice that anyone should do is the allegiance, so that the proper units can appear in the proper sections. I've already started Death. Any comment?
