Our first cut at this was with a Go-style waitgroup. It's been an okay solution. Now I'm looking at whether JS Promise/Future style may be better. I'm trying to figure out whether the typical CI/CD scripter would rather stock JS concepts (Promise/future) or simpler abstractions.

This is now implemented via two separate mechanisms:

1. We now support JavaScript Promises (job.run().then(...))
2. We now use a real eventing model, so you can do events.on("someEvent", ...)

Regarding events, we added canned after and error events to fire as the process completes.
