Overview

GitHub CommitPersist improves your workflow during commit reviews on GitHub by remembering the collapsed or expanded state of files. It ensures your review progress is saved, even after refreshing the page.

Usage

To manually install this extension as a developer, follow these steps:

  1. Clone the Repository: First, you need to clone the repository to your local machine. You can do this by running the following command in your terminal:

    git clone https://github.com/bmind12/GitHub-CommitPersist.git
  2. Open Chrome Extensions Page: In your Chrome browser, navigate to chrome://extensions.

  3. Enable Developer Mode: On the top right corner of the extensions page, toggle on the "Developer mode" switch.

  4. Load Unpacked Extension: Click on the "Load unpacked" button that appears on the top left corner of the page.

  5. Select the Extension Directory: Navigate to the directory where you cloned the GitHub-CommitPersist repository and select it.

The extension should now be installed on your Chrome browser. You can start using it by reviewing files on GitHub as usual. The extension will automatically remember the collapsed or expanded state of files during your commit reviews.
