ffaudioconverter's Issues

add a option to convert files from same source

hi,
would it be possible to have a checkbox which will enable the convertion of the audio file from the source location?
currently, ffaudioconverter gennerates a folder tree reflecting the location of the originating file at the destination.
it would be greate if ffaudioconverter would save the transcoded audio in the same place where the originating audio file was added from.
I hope this makes sence.
thank you for considdering my request

Change pitch filter

Would it be possible to add a change pitch filter, allow the user to specify the percentage change or from x hz to y hz?

Replay Gain

Add a function for Replay Gain in the settings.

Installing on Mac?

How can I install this on Mac? Possibly include instructions for building from source if you don't feel like making another package (assuming it is possible in the current state of the code).

FFaudioConverter icon is wrong on KDE Plasma Wayland session

Hi

I use FFaudioConverter on Arch Linux running KDE Plasma Wayland session.
As we can see in the screenshot below, the title bar shows a Wayland generic icon instead
FFaudioConverter icon. FFaudioConverter icon is also wrong in the task switcher (alt+tab).

More audio quality options

I'd like the program to have more audio quality options. For example, Ogg Vorbis currently have steps increasing in 2 or 64kbps (VBR Q0, 2, 4, 6, 8 or CBR 64, 128, 192, 256, 320kbps). I wish I have more options, like for Q1, 3, 5, 7 and beyond.

This could be available either as the drop-down menu (as we currently have) or the slider.

text field and spinbox are borderless

Hi
I installed your software on Arch Linux (from AUR) running KDE Plasma DE.
As we can see in the screenshot below, "FFmped binary" field and "Threads" spinbox look borderless. FFaudioConverter is the only Qt app on my system with such appearance.

Rewrite in Rust

I think it would be great if you could rewrite the whole program in Rust.

Advantages would be:

  • It is good and faster updatable.
  • The file size may be smaller.
  • It runs more stable.
  • And it needs less system resources
  • It is compatible with more operating systems

FLAC compression levels instead of "output quality"

In the current version, the FLAC output quality is limited to "auto" and "16 bit" settings, without an option for adjusting the compression level. In contrast, when using vorbis or mp3 formats, the output quality directly affects both the sound quality and the file size, making it the most commonly used parameter. However, with FLAC, the most commonly adjusted parameter is the compression level, which directly impacts the file size, as FLAC is a lossless codec. Therefore, using 16 bit as a quality setting in FLAC is akin to downsampling the audio, which isn't provided as an option for vorbis or mp3. It would be more convenient to have a compression level option for FLAC, rather than being limited to the output quality settings of "auto" or "16 bit".

Can't add multiple individual files from the command line

OS: Arch Linux; FFaudioConverter v0.27

Hello! Thanks for the software but I'm having a frustrating problem.

I can use "path" from the command line to add a folder or a single file to the queue to be processed but I can't add multiple files.

I need this functionality for use within my file manager - SpaceFM. I can pass a selection of files but I can't find a way for FFaudioConverter to accept more than the first file. I also don't want to pass a whole folder as I normally work on selected files from within a folder.

Please could you consider adding this functionality, many thanks.

enable source file deleetion after convertion

hi there,
would it be possible to have a setting where after the source file has been converted, it will then be deleted?
a warning could be added that you are not responsible for lost audio etc. when the check box is checked?
I am blind and use orca the screen reader.
your convertion tool works quite well just a few niggles which I will mention in another issue if you wish?
or can be mentioned here.
thank you for considdering my request.
