Boost variant is used for holding values. Replace this to remove the Boost dependency.

Generate doxygen docs and host somewhere, hopefully auto-generating on a web hook.

This is being done the noboost branch. This is:

• Using new C++11 STL features previously found in Boost.
• Simplify dependencies, and hopefully compile-time.
• An exercise in learning new features of C++11.

This issue is has several related issues and will be closed when they are all closed.

Only remaining major dependency on Boost.
