monitoringscape's Issues

Newrelic for System Monitoring

NewRelic is marketed as a full APM solution, but you can also use just their Server monitoring system for free! You are limited to 24 hours data history, but you have unlimited servers and a whole range of plugins for various things like MySQL, RabbitMQ, etc.

FusionReactor missing from APM tools section

Would be great if you could add FusionReactor (www.fusion-reactor.com) into the APM tools section. FusionReactor is a Java APM tool which takes a different approach than other monitors. FusionReactor not only provides the basics and core APM expectations that every user has for server monitoring, we also have the unique capability that allows you to do real-time production debugging, a game changer in accelerating the time needed to identify and FIX issues - PLUS FR’s unique Crash Protection, which will alert you and guard your servers against crashes, so you can take action BEFORE systems go down – resulting in improved quality, less downtime and happier customers !

Missing Bosun as monitoring system

"Bosun is an open-source, MIT licensed, monitoring and alerting system by Stack Exchange. It has an expressive domain specific language for evaluating alerts and creating detailed notifications. It also lets you test your alerts against history for a faster development experience. "

Missing arkin - Converged Visibility and Operations for the Modern Data Center

Hi
I enjoyed reading through the various categories as well as the technologies. Arkin is fundamentally changing and disrupting data center visibility and operations. We are the only platform that brings together configuration information and run time analytics to compute, network, security and storage. As such it is the only truly converged visibility and operations platform.

While I do not see a category such as the above on your chart we fit quite a few different categories - Enterprise Suites (our customers are Fortune 1000), system monitoring, Time Series, Anomaly Detection and Specialized Tools.

But I feel this categorization perpetuates the myth (and very costly at that) that you need different tools for each domain and sub function of IT Operations. Arkin converges a host of these across domains and functions.

let me know if you have questions on our inclusion. or if you need the official logo

Crazy old screenshots

If you're going to keep a list like this at least have recent screenshots of the products. At minimum the dynatrace and AppDynamics screenshots are REALLY old.

Circonus isn't on the list.

It focuses on systems monitoring, time-series and anomaly detection. Not sure how you decide which buckets these things go into in your infographic, but it is what it is.

Add mPulse to poster.pdf and poster.png

I'd submit a pull request, but I'm not sure how to modify the PDF.

mPulse was added under the Web section in the document, but wasn't added to the poster.

Missing Naemon in monitoring section

"The Naemon core is a network monitoring tool based on the Nagios 4 core, but with many bug fixes, new features, and performance enhancements. If you today use Nagios, you should switch to Naemon to get bugfixes, new features, and performance enhancements."

Missing CoScale in System Monitoring

Great overview, would be nice if CoScale (www.coscale.com) could be added. CoScale does system + web (+ business) + events + anomalies monitoring, don't know if 'system monitoring' would be best category or perhaps 'specialized tools'?

Missing Circonus

Hello,

I'm surprised to see that Circonus is not included in this list under TimeSeries Databases.
