tonality_features's Introduction

tonality_features

A public place to track feature requests for Tonality.

You can view and add requests in the "Issues" tab. A feature request should be descriptive, clear, and cover only one general topic/request. You can reference other requests if necessary. Try to add tags that characterize the request (iOS, MIDI, guitar, etc).

If your request is related to an existing one, please add a comment rather than creating a new request.

tonality_features's Issues

Scale "latch" mode

Allow a cumulative mode which stores notes until something (button or automation) is triggered. Useful for detecting the key of a piece as it plays.

sequencer (for chords)

This might be overkill but the app itself is so broad that there should definitely be place for it. For the chord pads something like a "song mode" /sequence where you can program chords to repeat a X number of beats and/or bars.

For reference I would look at the song mode of DM2, the sequence(pattern) mode of the Roseta suit maybe even Chordbud app.

Even better it would be to be able to group sequences to avoid repetitions (think of grouping a song sections AABA, for instance, where A, B, etc is a sequence of chords).

I write this as my main use for Tonality is the chord pads in AUv3 mode.

I rarely use the other features.

MIDI in ear training

It would be nice to allow users to answer ear training levels using a MIDI keyboard.

Construction quizzes

Add quizzes which prompt a chord/scale name and require the user to construct or play it

Transpose when changing key

Option to transpose entire pad set automatically when changing the current tonality, rather than transposing in settings

Inversions

Support inversion detection in places other than the ID audio unit. Potentially allow display in figured bass notation.

Playing Styles for Chord Pads

playing styles - hammered/arpeggio/rhodes/shuffle etc -
possibility to save your own presets -and to assign playing styles to chords you want-
