isolator's Issues

no way to access isolator after dismissing menu bar icon

After I removed the menu bar icon for isolator, I'm not able to open preference setting anymore. The app is working but I just can "open" any parts of its window anymore. The only way to quit it is using "activity monitor"

Is this a bug for my own computer or this app?

Doesn't work well using 2 monitors and switching windows

When using Isolater with a dual-monitor setup, I regular switch between opened windows (across both monitors). When doing so, it happens quite often when I switch from window A (of monitor 2) to window B (of monitor 1) the window which looses focus (window A of monitor 2) doesn't get dimmed. When I set focus to another window (say C) on monitor 2 and then switch back to window B again, finally window A is dimmed as expected.

Additional info: it doesn't happen when using alt-tab for switching windows, but it does when using the mouse to focus.

I'm using Mac OS 10.12.2 (Sierra) and Isolator 4.99beta

Bug: OS X 10.11.4 - Can't focus windows without a dock icon

Can't focus (bring to the foreground) windows without a dock icon when Hide windows of other applications is enabled. A simple test is to enable that option and and select About This Mac in the Apple menu.

I use this option since I started using Isolator years ago, to mimic Single Application Mode and keep an uncluttered desktop.

@beniamino38 Thank you for developing Isolator and picking it up again after these many years. Never lost hope for an update for newer OS Xs. Serious kudos to you.

Feature request: Tint strength and enabled/disabled state notification

Option to set Tint strength to 0% opacity (transparent).

|------------------|------------------|
Transparent Opaque

With Hide windows of other applications enabled, there's no need to dim the wallpaper when Isolator is enabled, except to differentiate from both enabled and disabled states.

So, this option would only make sense with Notification Center support, where a notification would be shown stating if Isolator is enabled or disabled, when invoked with the system-wide shortcut.

Edit Removed the "Faint" setting from the mockup above. Since it's close to transparent, it couldn't be a middle setting.

Isolator does not work on fullscreen apps

Hi,

Isolator does not fadeout on the app active app if its state if fullscreen. Is there someone who can look into?

I'm able to compile the code but I'm new to Xcode. Can some one help me?

Thanks,
Abdul

10.15 support

Hi Ben, thanks for your work on Isolator, I've been enjoying it for years. It definitely helps with productivity and focus by drawing your attention to the window you're working in.

Unfortunately Isolator is not compatible with OS X 10.15+. Can you please add 10.15 support to the app? Also, can you sell it on the Mac App Store?

Thank you!

Support for Catalina

Hi, I know that isolator is not optimized for 64bit Catalina yet, but it would be amazing. I use isolator in my day-to-day life and helped me focus alot.
Please consider optimizing for Catalina.

Can't focus on any window on macOS 10.12.2

Hi. Great productivity tool. thanks for developing it.

I noticed that it stoped working since last macOS update. The window in focus is still dark:

The bug comes and goes. I will keep reporting when I figure out why it does this
