extensions-update-notifier-chrome-extension's Issues

progress for updating extensions

I probably have a lot more extensions installed than a normal user, but I notice that my chromebook gets very sluggish sometimes and 99% of the time, immediately afterward I'll see a few notifications from the extensions update notifier.

It would be nice if the extension could also show progress akin to how chrome.webstore.install inline installs provide notifications for download progress / install etc. It would be nice to know that my system is slowing down because some extensions are updating. Currently I only find out after one has updated why my system is slowing down and not responding to scrolls, clicks, typing, etc.

Of course, it would be even better if I could manually disable app updates like I can on Android, for instance when I am doing some work and don't want to be distracted by my system slowing down for a few minutes.

This is probably the wrong place to write all this down but thought this was the best place I could find :-)

"View in store" link points to homepage

When extension defines their homepage in manifest, "View in store" link points to homepage instead of Chrome Web Store. Can you create a separate "View homepage" link when extension defines it and provide correct Chrome Web Store link in this situation?
Example: HTTPS Everywhere

read changelog.md if available

Maybe reading the changelog.md is a good things ?

So the developper don't need to update description with changelog ( maybe lambda people never read changelog ), but for other they can read the changelog.md ?

Update notifications only appear for a while

Since Chrome 47 removed the notification center, the notifications just appear for a few seconds and then disappear forever, even if you are not in front of your computer.

There should be a history/archive feature so we can find see all previous updates.

Update windows when you reinstall the extension

  1. Install the extension, for example this, it updates frequently
  2. Remove it
  3. Wait until the new version is avalible
  4. Install it again
Then update notification shows. This is kinda weird, why this extension remembers removed extensions?

Notify about specific extensions only?

Dear @beaufortfrancois

This is such a great extension! ๐Ÿฅณ

Would you want to consider a feature by which one can choose to not receive notifications for all updated extensions but just a list of chosen ones?

Thank you! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘

Add an option to disable `requireInteraction`

If chrome://flags/#enable-native-notifications is enabled on Chrome 59+ on Mac, it will show system-native notifications (yay!) and they will retain on the macOS Notifications Area, there's no need to have them stay indefinitely anymore.
